Create a plumber app

# Plumber booking app: emergency calls first, photo quotes next, planned jobs booked in slots

## For a leak, your customers call you in one tap and know what to do until you arrive; for a water heater to replace, they send you a photo; for the annual boiler service, they pick a slot.

Your plumbing business gets its app on iPhone, Android and the web, built without code: a call button, guides to follow before you get there, quote requests that come with photos, a map of your service area and, for planned work, slots linked to your Google Calendar.

## Waiting for the plumber: first steps, one guide per problem

### Turning off the water

Your guide shows where the main shut-off valve usually hides, by the water meter, under the kitchen sink or in a utility closet, and how to close it, with photos.

### A leak under the sink

Close the valves under the sink, or the main one if there are none, empty the cabinet, slide a bowl underneath, then photograph the dripping joint to send it to you.

### An overflowing toilet

Stop flushing, close the small valve behind the bowl and mop the floor before the water reaches the neighbors downstairs.

### No hot water

Note the error code or warning light shown by the boiler or water heater and pass it on to you, without opening the unit, so that you come with the right part.

### A frozen pipe

Turn off the water, open the tap the pipe supplies and wrap it in warm towels, never a flame; if it has split, the water stays off until you get there.

### A smell of gas

Leave the home and call the gas emergency number, which your guide shows first: for gas, the plumber is not the one to call.

## Three requests, three routes through the app

A leak won't wait, a quote needs a look, a service gets planned. Each request lands where you can deal with it.

| | Emergency | Quote | Planned job |
| ----------------------- | -------------------------------- | --------------------------------------------- | ------------------------------------------- |
| For example | Water coming through the ceiling | A water heater to replace, a bathroom to redo | The annual boiler service, a tap to replace |
| What your customer does | Calls you in one tap | Sends photos and their address | Picks a slot |
| In the app | CMS Contact: the call button | Form, file field for photos | Appointment booking |
| When you respond | Right away, on the phone | Once you've studied the photos | At the booked time |
| Bookable online | No: they call | No: you come back with a price | ✓ Yes, in your slots |

The quote itself is written with your usual quoting tool: the app passes on the request and the photos, without pricing or invoicing anything.

## The boiler service, booked in the app

### One-hour slots, with the address, the boiler and the door code known in advance

Give the annual service its own booking section, with slots that last one hour. The booking form gathers the address, the boiler's type and make, the floor and door code, and a phone number: you arrive with the right kit, at the right door. The booking is confirmed by email, to the customer and to you. If something comes up, the customer cancels on their own, without calling you: the hour is released in the app and in your Google Calendar alike.

## A day that keeps room for emergencies

### Minimum notice, mornings for planned work, on-call weekends closed

A leak reported at 9 a.m. can take up the whole afternoon. Require 24 hours' minimum notice: nothing can be booked for the same day, and today stays free for emergency calls. Limit booking to your mornings, 8 a.m. to noon if that suits you, and keep afternoons for the unexpected and for bigger jobs. Enter your on-call weekends and vacation days ahead of time as exceptional closures too: on those days, the app offers no slots at all.

## Two plumbers, two calendars

![](https://portalstorage.ww-cdn.com/misc/1712045266954_31-light__users.svg)

### Each plumber gets a section, and a Google Calendar of their own

Two or three of you on the road? Each plumber gets their own section, tied to the Google Calendar on their phone. When one of them takes an emergency, they add it to that calendar from the van, and the slots it overlaps drop out of the app. Customers pick their plumber, then a free hour; a slot never takes two bookings. And the service booked lands in the calendar of the plumber who will go.

## How much does a plumber app cost?

Your iPhone and Android app begins at the Premium plan. The call button, the what-to-do guides, the map of your area and the Form for photo quotes cost nothing extra. Only booking for planned jobs costs more, as an option on Premium; with the Pro plan, it's already there.

| **Premium** · web version plus iPhone and Android apps | $55 /month, billed annually |
| ------------------------------------------------------ | ---------------------------- |
| Appointment booking add-on, on Premium | $15 /month |
| **Pro** · Premium plus Appointment booking | $105 /month, billed annually |

On top of that: your Apple and Google developer accounts, paid directly to the stores.

## Plumber booking app: your questions

**### What should a plumber booking app do?**

Sort requests the way you already handle them: emergencies go to the call button, quotes to a form with photos, planned work to bookable slots. You build it without code, it's published on both stores under your business name, and a web version comes with it. Quotes and invoices stay outside it: it collects the requests, and you price them with your usual tools.

**### Can a customer book an emergency repair for the same day?**

No, on purpose. A minimum notice, 24 hours for example, keeps the current day free for the unexpected. A customer with a flooded kitchen isn't looking for a slot: they call you straight from the contact page, and your phone rings.

**### Does the app send text reminders before a plumbing appointment?**

No: the app sends no text messages and no automatic reminders. At booking, the customer receives a confirmation email with a cancellation link, and you get one too. For a message to everyone, like an August closure, a push notification can go out on the date of your choice.

**### How do customers send me photos before a quote?**

All it takes is a Form section that includes a file field: customers upload photos or a video of the water heater, the leak or the bathroom, along with their address and when they're available. Each request lands in your inbox, and you'll find them all in the back office, exportable to CSV. The Appointment booking form doesn't take photos, so quotes go through this section.

**### An emergency is making me late: how do I warn the next customers?**

The app doesn't move appointments on its own. Call the customer, whose number is in the booking if your form asks for it, or cancel their slot: a cancellation email lets them know, the hour opens up, and you agree on another date together.

**### Can I show the area I cover?**

Yes. A CMS Map section puts a pin on each town you serve, and an article explains your trip charge if you have one. Customers see whether they're in your area before they call you or ask for a quote.

**### I'm on call every other weekend: how do I show it?**

If your Saturday mornings can be booked, close the ones when you're on call, one day at a time, with exceptional closures. Publish your on-call rota in an article you update each month. The call button stays put: on those weekends, a customer with a leak reaches you just as on a weekday.

**### Annual boiler service: are customers reminded every year?**

Not one by one: the app keeps no record of each customer's last service date, and no personal follow-up goes out. What you can do is schedule a push notification for September, before the heating season, telling all your users that service slots are open.
