# Shuttle service app: timetables, stops on a map and delay alerts, with no seat reservations

## Your riders check this season's timetable, find their stop on the map and get a notification when the shuttle is running late, before they head out to wait for it.

Build your shuttle line's app without code, for iOS and Android plus a web version: summer and winter timetables, stops on a map, delays and cancellations sent as notifications, a message as riders pull into the park-and-ride lot. There are no seats to book: the app keeps everyone who rides informed.

### The hotel shuttle to the train station

The hotel van leaves twenty minutes before the 7:12 and 9:40 a.m. trains and meets every evening arrival until 10 p.m. In the app, its timetable follows the train schedule, with a photo of the stop outside the station. When the rail schedule changes, you republish the timetable, with no front-desk leaflet to reprint.

### Off-site airport parking

Travelers leave their cars two miles from the terminals. As they drive into the lot, Geofencing sends them your message: "Shuttle at shelter B every 15 minutes, 4:30 a.m. to 12:30 a.m." On the way back, the app's map shows them where to wait outside each terminal.

### The shuttle to a manufacturing plant

Three runs a day between the station and the plant, timed for the 6 a.m., 2 p.m. and 10 p.m. shifts. Every Friday, employees sign up through a Form, and its CSV export lets you count riders on each run. If the bus breaks down, the notification goes only to the plant's employee group.

## One line, set times, no seats to book

Build your line's app and add the current timetable: the trial runs 30 days, no credit card required. Riders check departures in it, without reserving a seat.

## What your line's app shows riders

### This season's timetable

One article per period (summer, winter, public holidays), with departures from every stop; when the season changes, the new timetable replaces the old one.

### Stops on a map

Each stop is a point in CMS Map: a photo of the shelter, the platform or terminal door, and walking directions from wherever the rider happens to be.

### Delays and cancellations

The 7:10 canceled, the 6 p.m. running fifteen minutes late: a notification says so right away, to everyone or only to riders in one area.

### The parking lot message

As riders enter the park-and-ride lot or the terminal area, Geofencing sends what they need to know: the pickup point, how often the shuttle runs, the time of the last run.

### Lost items and contact

A hat left under a seat? A Form collects the departure time and the stop where the rider got off. Your number is one tap away on the contact page.

## Three ways AI helps a shuttle line

Working out the next departure, answering riders, publishing the next timetable: each use shows its price.

On the phone

### A "next departure" section

Describe it to the AI Extension Builder and give it your timetable: "show the time left before the next shuttle at the selected stop." The calculation runs on the phone, from the scheduled times: when the shuttle is late, your notification is what tells riders.

For riders' questions

### An assistant that knows your stops

"Does the shuttle run on Sundays?" To answer, the Chatbot reads your timetable articles and the points on your map, then cites the article it used. It knows nothing about delays you haven't published, and it doesn't hold seats.

From Claude or ChatGPT

### The winter timetable, published by your assistant

Connect Claude or ChatGPT to your app through MCP and paste in the table of new departures: it drafts the winter timetable article, schedules it for the first day of the season and writes the notification to riders, publishing and sending nothing until you approve.

## How much does a shuttle app cost?

The Standard plan gives you a web version only, which already publishes your timetables and the map of stops; riders open it from a link or the QR code posted at the stop. The message at the parking lot entrance (Geofencing) and the automatic alert for each new timetable (Automatic push) require the Premium plan, which puts your iOS and Android apps in both stores. No booking option to budget for.

| **Standard** · timetables and map, as a web version | $30 /month, billed yearly |
| -------------------------------------------------------------- | ------------------------- |
| **Premium** · Geofencing, Automatic push, iOS and Android apps | $55 /month, billed yearly |

The app stores bill their developer accounts separately: Apple on one side, Google on the other. Hosting and app updates come with the subscription.

## Shuttle service app: questions from shuttle operators

**### Can my riders reserve a seat in the app?**

No. In GoodBarber's Appointment booking, each slot takes a single booking: the first rider to reserve the 8:05 departure would close it to the other nineteen seats on the bus. A shuttle with 8 to 50 seats can't be filled from the app; to count your riders, use a sign-up Form and confirm the seats yourself.

**### How do I warn only the riders at the station about a delay?**

Send an immediate push notification targeted at an area drawn around the station: only users in that area who have agreed to share their location receive it. For a company shuttle, target the plant's employee group instead: that takes Authentication and User groups, two paid options with Premium, both included in Pro. The notification then reaches employees wherever they are.

**### The schedule changes in summer: what do I need to update?**

The timetable article: publish the summer one and remove the winter one; if Automatic push is on for that section, publishing sends a notification. On the map, remove the stops closed for the season and add the seasonal ones. If you built a "next departure" section, give it the new times as well.

**### Does the app show where the shuttle is?**

No. The app doesn't track the vehicle: no real-time position, no calculated arrival time. Riders see the scheduled times, their stop and, as soon as something changes, your notification. When the driver gets stuck in traffic, they call you, and you alert your riders within a minute from the back office.

**### Can I count how many employees signed up for Monday's shuttle?**

Yes, with a sign-up Form: name, site, day, run, boarding stop, the last three as drop-down lists. Each sign-up triggers an email, and the CSV export, opened in a spreadsheet, gives you Monday's count run by run. Nothing closes sign-ups when the bus is full: it's up to you to tell the last people who signed up.

**### What is the message riders get at the parking lot?**

That's Geofencing, included at no extra cost from the Premium plan up. You draw an area, such as the park-and-ride lot or the terminal curb, and write the text sent to anyone who enters it: "The shuttle leaves from bay 3 every 20 minutes." Another message can go out when they leave. Only riders who have the app and allow it to use their location get it.

**### Do I need a native app, or is a web version enough?**

To publish the timetable and the map, the Standard plan's web version is enough: a link or a QR code posted at the stop opens it, with nothing to install. Automatic push and Geofencing aren't part of it; they require the Premium plan and its iOS and Android apps, published under your name, which regular riders install once and keep.

Extension Store

Seven free extensions for a shuttle line. Two of them, Geofencing and Automatic push, only work with the Premium plan.
