Software is by far the best in the market, with tremendous capabilities for configurations. ## Coffee shop app: frequently asked questions **### Can a coffee shop offer order-ahead pickup and a loyalty card in its own app?** Yes, in a GoodBarber eCommerce app: customers order and pay in the app, choose a pickup slot and earn points on the amount of each order. When they reach the threshold you set, a coupon is created automatically. Points reward orders placed in the app; for a purchase made at the counter, you can add points by hand in the customer's record. The stamp card validated with a QR code is a different extension, available in content apps only, without online ordering. **### How much does an app cost for an independent coffee shop?** You need an eCommerce subscription. A store-listed app for iPhone and Android needs Premium or Pro; Premium already covers Time slots; the Loyalty program is a paid extension on Premium and comes included with Pro. In-store pickup is free. GoodBarber takes no commission on your orders: only your payment provider's fees apply. If the wait at the counter costs you customers every morning, start with order-ahead pickup: time slots spread the rush, and points follow every order. If most customers walk in unannounced and pay at the counter, a stamp card in a content app is enough to bring them back. The two don't combine in one app: ordering belongs to the eCommerce app, the stamp card to the content app. **### Can customers choose the size, the milk or an extra shot?** Yes. Each product takes up to three options, for example size, type of milk and an add-on. Every combination becomes a variant, with its own price and its own stock. **### How do I know an order is coming in, and tell the customer it's ready?** Each order sends you an email and, with the Shop Companion app, a notification on the counter phone. Orders are listed by pickup slot and a swipe moves them forward. When an order moves to the next step, the customer automatically gets a push notification whose text you write, for example "Your order is waiting at the counter". **### Can I cap the number of orders during the rush?** Yes. Time slots set how often slots start, the maximum number of orders per slot and the minimum lead time between ordering and the first pickup. You can also open same-day slots only, or just the next one. Turning them on requires an app update on the stores. **### Do customers need an account to order?** You decide: account optional or required. Loyalty points, however, belong to the account: an order placed without one earns none. **### Can customers pay at the counter when they pick up?** Yes, with the Offline payment extension. Two things to know: an order paid at the counter earns no points, and once offline payment is live, the app no longer produces invoices, only order summaries.
