What this online help covers:
- Understanding what Model Context Protocol (MCP) is and how it empowers your GoodBarber app.
- Generating your MCP Server URL and API key set in the back office.
- Connecting AI assistants like Claude or ChatGPT to your GoodBarber app.
- With a GoodBarber app you can start using MCP right away during your free trial, before subscribing to a plan.
- You need your own account with an MCP-compatible AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT).
1. Understand GoodBarber MCP
Model Context Protocol (MCP) is an open standard that allows AI tools to interact securely with external services.
With GoodBarber MCP, your AI assistant (such as Claude or ChatGPT) connects directly to your GoodBarber back office. Instead of manually navigating menus, clicking buttons, or copying text, you can manage your app simply by chatting or giving voice commands in plain language.
The AI assistant acts on your commands while respecting your app's security boundaries and the specific permissions you grant.

3. Retrieve your MCP Server URL and create an API key
To connect an AI assistant to your app, you must retrieve your app MCP Server URL and generate an API key set in your GoodBarber back office:
Developers and technical users can also explore endpoint specifications on the GoodBarber Classic Public API documentation page and/or inspect open-source skill definitions on the GoodBarber Skills GitHub repository .
- Go to the menu Settings > MCP Server & Public APIs in your back office.
- Click + Create a new key set.

4. Manage multiple apps with AI
You can connect several GoodBarber apps to the same AI provider account (e.g. your Claude or ChatGPT account).
When configuring your AI connector, always use the specific Server URL copied from each app's back office. This ensures your AI assistant connects directly to the right project, which is essential if you manage multiple apps.

- Separate connections: Each GoodBarber app requires its own separate MCP connection and its dedicated API key set.
- No GoodBarber limits: GoodBarber does not limit the number of MCP connections you can create. Any usage limits, quotas, or restrictions depend on your AI provider.
5. Security & Data Control
Your data security and privacy remain fully protected:
- App-scoped access: Actions taken by the AI assistant are restricted strictly to your GoodBarber app and the specific module permissions (User, Stats, Cms) configured in your key set.
- Explicit permissions: The AI assistant cannot perform operations outside the scope defined by your API key.
- Instant key revocation: You can revoke an API key set at any time from the menu Settings > MCP Server & Public APIs , immediately blocking all access from the AI assistant.
