GoodBarber's connector is now listed in Claude's connectors directory. In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors and Discover, search for GoodBarber and select Connect to Claude: nothing to paste, no custom connector to create. The guide below covers that route, the custom connector route and Claude Code.

Requirements

Two accounts are all you need to get started.

A GoodBarber account

With at least one app.

Works with any app. Shop, CMS, Community or Membership features all supported.
The connector is scoped to a single app, the one tied to the API key you use.

A Claude account

Free, Pro, Max, Team or Enterprise.

Free accounts can add one custom connector. The directory method avoids creating a custom connector.
On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable GoodBarber for the organization before members can connect.

Setup: add the connector

Two routes to the same result: from the directory in about thirty seconds, or by URL if you prefer to add the server yourself. Both end on the GoodBarber sign-in screen.

Method A: from the Claude connectors directory

The recommended route on Claude.ai, Claude Desktop and Claude mobile. About thirty seconds, nothing to paste.

Open Connectors in Claude
In Claude, open Customize, then Connectors and Discover.
Find GoodBarber and click Connect to Claude
Search for GoodBarber in the directory and click Connect to Claude. The GoodBarber sign in screen opens.
Enter your API key and authorize
Paste an API key from your GoodBarber back office. Each key is tied to one app: that is the app Claude will manage. Authorize access.
You're done
GoodBarber now appears in your connectors and its tools are available in conversations where GoodBarber is enabled. When a task calls for it, Claude can also suggest the GoodBarber connector on its own. If needed, open the chat menu, choose Connectors and enable GoodBarber.

On Team and Enterprise plans, an Owner or Primary Owner must enable GoodBarber in Organization settings, then Connectors. Each member then connects their own account. Use Request if it is available. Requests are enabled by default on Team and must be enabled by an owner on Enterprise.

Your connected services are also available on Claude for iOS and Android. Installing directory connectors on mobile is in beta. Use the web or desktop app for custom connector setup.

Method B: by URL, as a custom connector

The same server, added by hand. Useful when you connect through a white label endpoint as a Reseller. Your organization’s connector policies still apply.

Open Connectors in Claude
Open Customize, then Connectors. Open the Add connector menu and choose Add custom connector. Some versions show Add, then Custom and Web.
Paste the GoodBarber MCP server URL
Enter GoodBarber as the name and paste the server URL below, or your Reseller endpoint. Select Continue and wait for Claude to check the server.

If Claude displays an SSE deprecation warning, you can ignore it and continue with setup.
Choose the OAuth settings
Under Authentication, choose Sign in now. Under OAuth client, select Register automatically to use GoodBarber’s automatic client registration. Leave Request headers empty. Your GoodBarber API key belongs on the GoodBarber authorization page in the next step.
Enter your API key and authorize
Click Add and follow the connection prompts. On the GoodBarber sign in screen, enter an API key from your GoodBarber back office. Each key is tied to one app: that is the app Claude will manage. Authorize access.
You're done
GoodBarber tools are now available in your Claude conversations where the connector is enabled. If needed, open the chat menu, choose Connectors and enable GoodBarber for the conversation.

Your session is scoped to the single app tied to your API key. The tools you see depend on the services enabled on that app (Shop, CMS, Community, Membership).

Using Claude Code?

Sign in to Claude Code with the same Claude account you used above. GoodBarber is available automatically after you authorize it in Claude. Open /mcp in Claude Code to check the connection.

This applies when Claude Code uses your Claude subscription login. Sessions using an API key or a third party provider need their own MCP configuration.

Advanced: configure Claude Code separately

Follow Anthropic’s manual MCP setup guide to add the server to a separate Claude Code configuration. After adding it, use /mcp or claude mcp login goodbarber to authorize GoodBarber with an API key from your back office.

Claude’s approval requests depend on your tool permissions and approval mode. Review access before allowing tools that create, update or delete data, or send push notifications.

OAuth 2.1 with PKCE

Authentication uses OAuth 2.1 with PKCE. Your GoodBarber API key is never shared with Claude.

Scoped to a single app

Each connection is scoped to a single app. Claude can only access the app you authorized, never other GoodBarber accounts.

Revoke any time

You can revoke access at any time from your GoodBarber account, or by removing the connector in Claude.
