Design first: 2025 year in review
Written by Jerome Granados on

As we do every year, we’re taking a look back at the key updates and improvements brought to GoodBarber over the past twelve months. And in 2025, one theme stood out clearly: design.
We focused our efforts on one clear objective — helping you create apps that are more elegant, modern, and high-performing, perfectly aligned with current UI/UX trends.
Our designers, through continuous research and trend analysis, have drawn inspiration from the best of 2025 to expand the platform’s design capabilities. The result: more refined interfaces, bold new layouts, and an overall optimized user experience.
At the same time, new advanced features have been introduced to strengthen GoodBarber’s power and flexibility — both for content apps and commerce apps.
In this article, we walk you through the most impactful updates released in 2025.
Global design: more control, more harmony, more impact

Previously limited to linear gradients, the platform now supports radial gradients , giving you a new layer of creative flexibility. Carefully positioned, these subtle visual effects add depth and can completely shift the atmosphere of a section.
It’s a small addition—but one that makes a big difference.

To further elevate the typographic quality of your apps, GoodBarber now lets you customize both line height and letter spacing . These settings offer greater creative freedom while playing a key role in enhancing readability.
Depending on your layout choices, they can either improve reading comfort or reflect a more distinctive visual identity.
Thumbnails. They grab attention, spark interest, and drive clicks. In 2025, we introduced two major improvements to help you make the most of their impact.
First, the edge-to-edge display gives images more presence by allowing them to fill the entire available space. This layout choice adds immediate visual appeal to your content lists.
Second, we introduced eight supported image ratios: 4:3, 16:9, 3:4, 9:16, square, golden ratio (horizontal and vertical), and original format.
These options give you complete freedom in how you showcase visuals, resulting in interfaces that are immersive and perfectly adapted to each editorial context.
Everything is built natively into GoodBarber. Access is simple, instant, and fully optimized. Every detail is handled down to the pixel, with no errors, no glitches, no compromises.
You focus on creativity. We take care of precision.
28 new layouts
This in-depth work involved our Design, Product, and Development teams over several months, with a clear goal: to give you more choice, more freedom, and more precision in how you present your content.
Each layout was designed for a specific use case—editorial, immersive, modern—while maintaining perfect visual consistency throughout the app.
These new layouts are organized into several major families: Enriched, Visual, Condensed, and the highly popular Immersive Story.
Together, they bring enhanced clarity and modernity to your apps, while allowing for a wide variety of use cases and editorial goals.
Enriched layout
But what truly earns it the name “Enriched” is its ability to display a high number of key metadata: publication date, author, title, number of comments, favorite button… All essential information is immediately visible, ensuring clear, structured, and engaging reading.
Fully responsive and developed within GoodBarber’s Design System , Enriched is also compatible with Native Ads, making it ideal for combining editorial richness with subtle monetization.
Visual Card Banner layout
Its strength lies in its flexible metadata display: top, bottom, or overlaid on the image—each configuration allows you to match the layout to your editorial tone.
Ideal for highlighting high-value content, Visual Card Banner delivers a strong visual experience with advanced customization, all while respecting the Design System.
Condensed layout
It’s the ideal choice when you want to display a large amount of information on a single screen—perfect for a news app, a frequently updated blog, or real-time content.
With its minimal, structured design, built within our Design System, Condensed ensures fluid, efficient navigation, even when publication frequency is high.
And because dense content also deserves monetization, Condensed is compatible with Native Ads—discreet yet effective.
UneCondensed layout
It allows you to highlight a main item (the “top story”) while keeping a compact list for the remaining entries. The balance is carefully calibrated: the featured item draws attention without sacrificing overall readability.
Built within the Design System and compatible with Native Ads, UneCondensed is a precise tool in your design toolbox, helping you build apps that are both structured and visually impactful.
Visual Card List layout
Ideal for illustrated articles, videos, map-based content, or photo galleries, this layout uses modern cards with a carefully managed visual hierarchy.
Designed to emphasize media first and foremost, it delivers an interface that is clear, dynamic, and engaging from the very first scroll.
Visual Card Grid & UneGrid layout
Visual Card Grid & UneGrid is designed for Article sections, combining two complementary approaches: a featured card to highlight a key item, followed by a compact grid of thumbnails.
This format is ideal for organizing large volumes of illustrated articles, while keeping the interface clean, well-structured, and pleasant to scroll.
No need to memorize the layout name—clear visual sketches in the back office make it easy to preview and select the layout that best fits your needs.
Immersive Story layout
Inspired by the interaction patterns of major social apps, this layout offers a smooth, touch-friendly reading experience focused on immediacy and visual immersion.
Tap right or left to navigate, long-press to pause, enjoy haptic feedback for a more tactile feel, and follow your progress with a dynamic page indicator. Every detail has been designed to feel natural and familiar for your users.
Built for highly visual articles, Immersive Story brings you up to par with the best-in-class app experiences—while letting you keep full control over your content and design.
Smart tools to build smarter apps
Throughout the year, new building blocks were added to GoodBarber, with a particular emphasis on bringing the power of AI into your apps.
Each new feature addresses a specific, concrete need, designed to help you go further in your projects, with the same commitment to reliability and ease of use.

In 2025, we significantly expanded the range of payment services available through the Stripe Extended extension, with a strong focus on local and high-value industry-specific solutions.
Notable additions this year include: Alma (installment payments), Billie (B2B deferred payments), BLIK (Poland), MobilePay (Denmark, Finland), TWINT (Switzerland), as well as Revolut Pay, Cash App Pay,Link, Amazon Pay, and WeChat Pay.
Each of these services was selected to match specific payment habits, whether based on local practices or widespread consumer preferences.
By extending the capabilities of Stripe Extended, GoodBarber enables you to deliver a more seamless, more familiar, and better localized checkout experience, all without added complexity.
One of the year’s standout innovations, GoodBarber now includes an intelligent chatbot built on RAG (Retrieval-Augmented Generation) technology.
In simple terms, this means your chatbot can draw on your own content to generate relevant, coherent, and contextual responses for your users—without the need for complex setup or custom training.
The goal: to enhance the quality of automated assistance within your app, while giving you full control over the knowledge base being used.
Easy to configure, this new tool lets you offer a high-level conversational experience, fully embedded in your app, with responsiveness and relevance that match the highest market standards.

To round off the year on a lighter note, we added a small bonus feature for apps in the health, wellness, or fitness space: a ready-to-use BMI calculator.
Simple, intuitive, and directly embeddable, it lets your users calculate their Body Mass Index in just a few seconds.
A discreet but useful feature that expands GoodBarber’s functional toolkit—proof of our continued commitment to serving targeted, real-world use cases, no matter the industry.
Looking ahead to 2026
That didn’t stop us from enhancing the platform with targeted, powerful new features, designed to meet real-world needs.
In 2026, we’ll keep building on this momentum with the same goal: to offer the best possible balance between aesthetics, performance, and innovation.
You can count on us to keep evolving GoodBarber, helping you create apps that remain at the highest level, always aligned with your users’ expectations—today and tomorrow.
