How to customize the launch screen of your app

The launch screen

The launch screen is the image your native iOS and Android app shows while it opens and loads its content.

In the My App menu, click Launch screen.

There are two ways to create it: the wizard builds it for you, or you upload your own images.

With the wizard, the launch screen shows a text, or a picture.

For a picture, such as your logo, click Picture and upload an image of at least 640 by 640 pixels.

Your picture takes its place on the launch screen.

If you keep a picture, the wizard uses it instead of the text. To use a text, remove the picture… and confirm.

Then click Text.

The title is your app's name. Under it, type a short baseline.

The preview updates as you type.

Then style the title: pick a font… here, the one used in the app.

Set its size… and an effect, such as a shadow. The baseline has the same settings.

For the background, choose a color, or a photo: upload your own, or pick one in the library.

The library offers free photos from Pexels. Search for one, and click it.

The photo now fills the background.

Add an effect, such as a gradient… to keep your text easy to read.

When you're happy with it, click Generate… and GoodBarber creates the launch screen in every format your app needs.

You find them in the Splashscreen tab, one per format.

To use your own design instead, upload one image per format: 1242 by 2688 pixels for iOS, 1440 by 2560 for Android, and 2048 by 1536 for tablets.

Keep important content away from the edges: each image is cropped to fit the screen it's shown on.

To make your new launch screen visible to your users, publish your app's update from the Publish menu.
