Nobody picks walnut from a screen: you need to see it in daylight, run a hand over oiled oak, open a lacquered door. Set up a "Shop visit" section with one-hour slots, open every Saturday between 9 a.m. and noon: three visits a morning, and never two families crowding around the same samples. The booking form asks which room the project is for, the rough dimensions and, in a link field, a page of images that inspire the customer. An email confirms the visit, to the customer and to the shop; their answers also show up in the Google Calendar event, so the right panels are out before they arrive.

Coming to the shop and having the carpenter over are two appointments of different lengths, so make them two sections. The visit section is linked to the shop's Google Calendar, the one checked by whoever opens on Saturday; the measuring section, with 90-minute slots on weekdays, to the carpenter's own calendar. The app adds no travel time between appointments: open two short windows a day instead, say 9 to 10:30 a.m. and 2 to 3:30 p.m., and the gap between them leaves time for the drive and the workbench. An install day entered in that Google Calendar from your phone takes the slots it overlaps out of the app. Both sections share the booking form: the address stays optional there, since it only matters for measuring.
Wood species and finishes, one at a time
Oak
Hard and strongly grained, it works for staircase treads as well as bookcase shelves; its page shows it raw, then oiled, and warns that it mellows in the light.
Walnut
Dark brown, often saved for cabinet fronts or a desktop; its page says whether you work it solid or as veneer, with a photo taken in daylight.
Ash
Pale with well-defined grain, it brightens a walk-in closet or a child's room; its page shows the same panel under a clear finish and under a stain.
Lacquer
For closets that blend into the wall or for kitchen fronts: one photo per color, matte or satin, and the care routine, a soft cloth barely damp, never an abrasive sponge.
Oil finish
The wood keeps its feel and can be repaired in spots: the page shows how to revive a dull tabletop with a fresh coat of oil, step by step.

Can customers see the wood before they order?
Yes, that's what the Saturday visit is for: an hour to see the panels in daylight, open a drawer, compare oiled oak with stained ash. Before coming, they've browsed a page per species and per finish in the app; the photos help them rule things out, but the final choice happens in front of the wood.
How should I organize measuring appointments?
In a section of their own, with 90-minute slots, linked to the calendar of the carpenter who goes out. A minimum notice of three days, for example, gives you time to read the project. Nobody has to visit the shop first: a customer who already knows your woods books directly. An install running over? Cancel the appointment yourself: an email tells the customer, the slot goes back into the app, and the new date gets settled by phone.
What lead times should I announce?
The ones your shop actually meets, counted from plan approval rather than from the visit: several weeks of building, then installation. Put them in a dated article that you keep current. When your schedule fills up, publish a news post, then a push notification that flags it to everyone. No lead time shows up on its own: you're the one who writes it.
Can customers send a photo of their entryway and its dimensions?
Yes, through a Form section, which is free: the room, the rough width and height, a photo of the empty space and an inspiration image in file fields. An email alerts you to each request, and the back office keeps them. The booking form, on the other hand, doesn't accept photos. These images help prepare the appointment without replacing the measuring: a wall that's out of plumb or a sloping floor doesn't show up in a photo.
Can customers pay a deposit in the app?
No. Booking a visit or a measuring appointment collects no money, and the app takes no orders. The deposit due when your quote is signed doesn't go through it either: it's paid the usual way.
Does the app draw the plans?
No. It draws neither dimensioned plans nor 3D views, and it doesn't replace your design software. The plan is drawn in the shop after measuring and goes to the customer the way you usually send it.
How do I show my past projects room by room?
With one photo gallery per room: entryway, kitchen, bedroom, bookcases, staircase. For each project, an article names the wood, the finish and the constraint of the space: a sloped ceiling, a wall that isn't straight, a winding staircase. Next to the overall view, add a close-up of the joinery or the inside of a drawer, the detail customers look at closely.
