Create an audio drama app
Audio drama app: your history and mystery serial, with a new episode every week
Every week a new episode comes out on time and a notification tells your listeners. The first season is free to hear; the next one is for subscribers.
Your audio drama in its own iPhone and Android app, built without code: episodes scheduled ahead, a notification at each release, a premium season sold through an in-app subscription, listening with the screen off or offline.
Free 30-day trial - No credit card required

The weekly appointment
The episode drops on Thursday at 6 p.m., and the notification goes out with it
A serial lives on its rhythm. Load the whole season into a Podcasts section of the back office and give each episode its date: the app releases them one by one, without you having to think about it. Set an automatic push on that section: with every release, the episode title lands on your listeners' phones, and last week's cliffhanger gets its sequel.

One open season, one premium season
Season 1 brings listeners in, season 2 turns them into subscribers
Leave the first season free: that is the one that hooks people. Lock the next one for subscribers through Memberships; sales open once ten pieces of content are reserved, and a ten-episode season is enough. Any episode can switch from free to reserved, and back, whenever you like: give everyone the first episode of season 2, so they want to hear what happens next.

The world around the story
Characters, places, period documents: one article per episode
Each episode can have its written page: the recap, the cast of characters, the old postcard or the letter that serves as a clue. For historical fiction, add the real landmarks: the date, the place, what is true and what is invented. Once locked, these pages also count toward your reserved content.

To keep track
“Who was the notary in episode 3?”
Answers come from the recaps and character pages you published as articles, with a link to the page consulted. Without a subscription, the Chatbot only draws on the open pages: the premium season keeps its secrets.

To investigate
The suspect board
Describe in the back office a board where listeners rule out suspects as the episodes go by, and the AI Extension Builder slots it into your app. Just an example: you get the section you describe.

To produce
Thursday's release set up from Claude
Once the MCP server links it to the app, the AI assistant you rely on acts there: ask for the episode 7 page drawn from your script, then for its scheduling; you approve, and it is done.
Included
The serial follows the listener
The episode keeps playing with the screen off, and downloads for the commute
In the native apps, a Privacy Center option keeps the story going once the phone locks or another app comes to the front. Saved as a favorite, an episode downloads for the metro or a flight. And the bandwidth these plays use is never billed to you.

The historical fiction author
Her serial follows a family of printers from 1789 to 1815: one episode a week, one season per period, the most recent ones for subscribers.
The actors' collective
It records an eight-episode investigation every quarter; the trailer goes out by push a week before the first episode.
The publishing house
When the stories are finished books, read in full and offered as a catalog, what they need is an audio library.
An audiobook publisher's libraryWhat else the serial's app offers
One section per season
Episodes in order, each with its recap.
Listeners' theories
They build them in the comments, episode after episode; you keep control over what gets shown.
Your public feed imported
If the serial already runs on listening platforms, its RSS feed fills a free section.
Targeted nudges
A push sent only to non-subscribers when the premium season begins.
An episode to pass on
One tap sends it to a friend.
A web app
The serial also plays in a browser; subscribers sign in there after subscribing in the app.

What an audio drama app costs
A premium season is sold in the native apps: Premium with Memberships added, or Pro, which already carries it. Your episodes are hosted within the plan's storage; push and app updates add nothing.
| Premium · iOS and Android apps, web app | $55 /month, billed yearly |
| Memberships, on top of Premium | $49 /month |
| Pro · Memberships built in | $105 /month, billed yearly |
The stores keep a commission on each subscription, usually 15%; GoodBarber keeps none. Your developer accounts are paid straight to Apple and Google.
Extension Store
For an audio drama: Memberships (an option on Premium, built into Pro), the Podcasts section and your existing feed, push, articles, favorites for offline listening, the AI Extension Builder and the Chatbot.
Audio drama app: your questions
Audio drama or mystery audiobook: which app should I choose?
If your story comes out week after week, in seasons, this is the app. If you publish crime novels already recorded in full, as a catalog, see the app for audiobook publishers instead.
Can I sell one season on its own?
No: the app has a single access level. The subscription opens every reserved episode, in every season. A listener can therefore subscribe for a month and hear everything; one episode a week gives them a reason to stay.
Do episodes go live on their own on the planned day?
Yes: each episode is scheduled for its date and time in the back office. If an automatic push is set on the section, it goes out when the episode is published.
My serial already airs on Spotify, Deezer or Apple Podcasts: should I take it down?
No. Its RSS feed can fill a free section of the app, and nothing changes for its current listeners. Reservation only applies to episodes loaded into the CMS, so the premium season is published in the app.
Can a listener try the premium season?
Yes, if you add a free trial period to the subscription settings on each store. You can also open the season's first episode to everyone for a weekend.
What budget should I plan for an audio drama app?
Premium and its Memberships option, or Pro, which includes it. Selling also requires an active web app on a domain name of your own; developer accounts are paid separately.
GoodBarber releases your audio drama episode by episode and sells its premium season by subscription, with no GoodBarber commission
Scheduled episodes, a push with each release, a free season and a reserved one, story-world pages, background and offline listening, the Chatbot and a suspect board.
