Optician app: appointments booked online, new frames announced by push, sales kept in your store
On Thursday at 6:15 p.m., Ines collects her glasses in the slot she booked. On Saturday, Hugo starts wearing contact lenses, and Chloe walks in with three frame styles in mind. All of them then pay at your counter.
Give your optical store an app of its own, native on iPhone and Android and made without code: eye tests, contact lens fittings, adjustments and pickups booked in your slots, new collections announced by push, and a loyalty card for lens care products and contact lenses.

Thursday's pickup
Ines's glasses are ready. She opens the app and books Thursday at 6:15 p.m. in the Pickup section, a 20-minute slot, enough time for the fitting. A confirmation email lands in her inbox right away. When she arrives, the optician fits the frame to her face, and Ines pays at the counter.
See appointment bookingHugo's contact lenses
Hugo wants to switch to contact lenses. He books Saturday at 10 a.m. in the Contact lenses section; the form asks whether he has worn them before. In the store, he learns to put them in and take them out. He pays for his care solution at the counter and holds his phone up to the QR code next to the card terminal; his loyalty card now shows an extra point.
See the loyalty cardChloe's frames
Before coming in, Chloe opens "Which frames suit my face?": four questions with buttons, then three recommended styles, including a cat-eye shape. She books a styling session on Saturday at 3 p.m. and types "cat-eye" in the form. When she walks in, the optician has already taken that style off the wall.

What fills your calendar, what shows off your frames, then what brings your clients back.
Open your appointments
One section per service, on the Appointment booking extension: eye tests if your store offers them, contact lens fittings, adjustments and small repairs, glasses pickup, help choosing frames. Each one has its own hours and slot length; a single form, shared by all of them, can ask for the type of visit or the date of their latest prescription.Show your collections
Article sections for new frames, the season's sunglasses and care tips, plus a photo gallery of the store. A notification tells your clients about each new arrival, all of them or only those in a neighborhood you pick.Bring clients back
On the loyalty side, each purchase of care products or contact lenses earns a point, validated with the QR code displayed at the till. Directions, opening hours, a call button and notices of unexpected closures complete the app.
An app, a website or optical software?
Three tools for an optical store: the part each plays in bringing a client in, and where it stops.
| Your GoodBarber app | Your website | Optical software | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Appointments booked online, on your schedule | Yes, one section per service | Depends on the site's plugin | Depends on the software |
| New collections announced by push | Yes, to the whole clientele or one area | Depends on the site | Depends on the software |
| Loyalty points validated at the till | Yes, QR code at the till | Depends on the site | Depends on the software |
| Frame advice before the visit | Yes, built with the AI Extension Builder | Depends on the site | Depends on the software |
| Prescriptions, client records, lens orders | No, that's not the app's role | Depends on the site | That's its job |
| Insurance claims and reimbursements | No, they're handled at the counter | Depends on the site | Depends on the software |
What your clients find in the app
Appointments
Eye tests, contact lenses, adjustments, pickup or styling, booked in your slots through appointment booking.
Collections
New frames and the season's sunglasses, presented in illustrated articles.
The store in pictures
The frame walls, the kids' corner, the workshop, in a photo gallery.
The loyalty card
One point for every purchase of care products or contact lenses, with the loyalty card.
Frame advice
Four questions about face shape and use, then three styles to come and try on.
What's new
A notification when a collection arrives or when the store closes unexpectedly.
What AI brings to your optical store
Three uses: frame advice before the visit, articles written faster, a store run by your assistant.
To build
Which frames suit my face?
Request this section from the AI Extension Builder: four questions with buttons about face shape, face width, use and preferred style, then three recommended frame styles, each with a sentence explaining why, and an invitation to come and try them on. No photo, no camera, no data stored.
Free
To write
The new collection's article
Assisted writing in the CMS drafts the article that presents a collection in one click, in your store's voice. You read it over, add your photos, then publish it.
To operate
A store run by your assistant
"Post an article on the new sunglasses in Collections." "Close appointments on Saturday, December 26." Via MCP, Claude or ChatGPT handles both in your back office and confirms each step.

How much does an optician app cost?
From Premium on, the app comes out natively on the App Store and Google Play. Appointment booking, which runs your booking sections, costs an option with Premium and nothing more with Pro. For the loyalty card, plan on an extra fee with both plans, plus Authentication if you're on Premium.
| Premium · iOS, Android and web app | $55 /month, billed annually |
| Appointment booking, a Premium add-on | $15 /month |
| Loyalty card, on top of either plan | $8 /month |
| Pro · appointments included | $105 /month, billed annually |
The Standard plan publishes the web version only, with no appointments or loyalty card. Apple and Google developer accounts are paid to them directly.

Opticians: questions about the app
What app builder suits an optician?
With GoodBarber, a no-code app builder, an optician builds the store's iPhone and Android app on their own: online appointments, collections, loyalty card. Independent or part of a chain, start your optical store's app.
Can we sell glasses or contact lenses in the app?
No: try-ons, sales, insurance claims and reimbursements happen at the counter. GoodBarber doesn't connect to optical practice software; there's no cart or inventory in the app, which exists to get clients through your door rather than to take payments.
Can a client attach a prescription to the booking?
No attachments: the form only has written fields (text, date, number, phone, link) and no photo field. The prescription is shown in the store; its date can go in the form.
Which appointments should the app offer?
Your store's own, each in its own section: eye tests if you perform them, contact lens fittings, adjustments and small repairs, glasses pickup, help choosing frames. Each section has its own hours and slot length.
What about clients who call to book?
Put those bookings in the Google calendar tied to that section: the app then treats the slot as taken and stops offering it.
Does the client get a message before the appointment?
They get a confirmation email when they book, and that's all. For news meant for everyone, a closure for instance, you send a push notification.
How do loyalty points work at the till?
You print a QR code in the back office, then place it by the till. With each purchase of care products or contact lenses, the client scans it with the app and the card moves up one point; you decide how many points unlock which reward. Since each card belongs to an identified client, the Authentication extension is needed.
How do we announce a new collection?
Write an article with photos of the new frames, then send a notification: it can reach your whole clientele, or only clients within an area you draw, provided they've allowed location.
Do we have to publish the app in the stores ourselves?
Not necessarily: you can start the submission from the back office with your developer accounts, or leave it to our experts. It's all set out on our publishing service page.
What budget should an optical store plan?
Either Premium plus the booking option, or Pro, where booking is built in; in both cases, add the loyalty card. The box above gives the exact figures in your own currency; to compare plans line by line, open our pricing.
