Ski rental app: fitting slots booked for arrival Saturday, measurements sent ahead
On the Saturday when a new week of guests arrives at the resort, each family comes into the shop at the time they picked and finds skis, poles and boots already set aside for every skier.
Your rental shop at the foot of the slopes gets its own app, built without code and published for iPhone, Android and the web: fittings booked one family at a time, each skier's measurements received before arrival, a calendar for the tune shop, chalet delivery requested online. Your rental software keeps the inventory and the contracts.

Arrival Saturday: three ways to pick up your skis
Every family arriving that week comes to the shop on the same day; here is what changes depending on how they go about it.
| Booked fitting | Walk-in | Chalet delivery | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Waiting at the shop | The family comes in at their booked time | The Saturday line, depending on arrivals | No trip to the shop |
| Gear ready on arrival | Yes, prepared from the measurements | No: picked and adjusted on the spot | Yes, brought to the chalet |
| Each skier's measurements | Sent ahead through a Form | Taken at the counter | Included with the delivery request |
| The time | Chosen in the app, in 20-minute slots | Arrival time, plus the wait | Agreed with you after the request |
| How the family goes about it | Appointment booking: one slot for the whole family | They walk into the shop | Form: chalet address, arrival day |
One fitting slot per family, not per skier
Two parents and three kids get fitted in the same 20-minute slot
A fitting slot lasts 20 minutes and belongs to a whole family: boots tried on, bindings checked, skis and poles handed over. Since each slot takes a single booking, two families are never booked for the same time. In the booking form, the family gives the number of skiers, the chalet or apartment building, and their rental days. Both the family and the shop receive the confirmation email, and the counter's Google Calendar keeps those answers in the event.

The fitting counter and the tune shop, each on its own calendar
Two booking sections: one for families, the other for the technician
The Fitting section follows the counter's Google Calendar; the Tuning section follows the calendar of the technician who waxes and sharpens. Each has its own slot length and hours: 20 minutes to kit out a family, 10 minutes to drop off skis after a day on the slopes, between 5 and 7 pm. Your technician is off for two days of training? Add those days to their calendar: the tune shop can't be booked then, and fittings carry on. Since both sections share one booking form, write questions that work for both, such as "Number of skiers or pairs."

Saturday from 8 am to 7 pm, weekdays around the slopes
Long hours on arrival days, short ones while everyone is skiing
On Saturdays and Sundays, when one week's guests make way for the next, open fittings from 8 am to 7 pm straight through. On weekdays, two time ranges are enough: 8 to 9:30 am before the lifts start, 4:30 to 6:30 pm as skiers come off the slopes. When the resort announces its opening date, enter these hours, close the days before it one by one and set the booking window to 90 days: from December, the Saturdays of the February break open up, and a push notification tells the families who kept the app. The day after the lifts close, clear the time ranges until next winter. Access road closed by snow? Close the day: every family expected gets a cancellation email.

The measurements to send before you come
Height
It guides the length of the skis and poles; for a child who has grown since last winter, take today's measurement.
Weight
Along with height, age and ability, it goes into the release setting of the bindings, checked afterwards with the boot in place.
Shoe size
An everyday shoe size is enough: the matching boots wait on the shelf, and the fitting shows whether a half size up is needed.
Ability level
Never skied, green runs, comfortable on blues, off-piste: a drop-down list decides which range of skis comes out for each skier.
Skis or snowboard
For a snowboard, which foot goes in front, regular or goofy: the bindings are set up for the right stance before arrival.
Ski rental shops: seven questions before winter
How do I avoid the Saturday line?
By spreading families across the day: each one picks a 20-minute slot in the app between 8 am and 7 pm. Since every slot has a single taker, the fitting counter sees three families an hour at most, not twenty at once at 5 pm, and their gear is already set out. Keep a second counter for walk-ins.
Does a family of five book five slots?
No, just one: the 20-minute slot is booked in the family's name, and the booking form asks how many skiers there are. Each skier's measurements arrive separately, through the Form. Two families sharing a chalet book two back-to-back slots.
How do I get shoe sizes and ability levels before arrival?
Through a Form, a free extension, filled in once per skier: family name, arrival date, height, weight, age, shoe size, ability level, skis or snowboard. An email lets you know about each submission; open the CSV export in a spreadsheet on Friday and you have the list of gear to prepare.
Can my tune shop have its own appointments?
Yes: a Tuning section linked to the technician's Google Calendar, in 10-minute evening slots. With twelve slots open from 5 to 7 pm, the technician knows there will be no more than twelve drop-offs to handle by morning. Skiers who bring their own equipment can book it too.
Can customers pay for the rental in the app?
No: neither the rental, nor the tuning, nor any deposit is paid there. The family pays at the shop during the fitting, or at the chalet on delivery day, by whatever means you accept. Weekly rates go in an article; the slots themselves show no price.
I deliver skis to chalets: how do I offer that in the app?
With a delivery Form: chalet address, day and time of arrival, number of skiers, and their measurements if they haven't been sent already. The request reaches you by email, then you confirm the delivery time. It isn't a booking: only you know whether Saturday's delivery run still has room.
Does the app replace my ski rental software?
No, and the two don't talk to each other: ski inventory, contracts, invoicing and returns stay in your software. The app handles what comes before, from fitting slots to delivery requests, and Form responses export as CSV files for your other tools.
