Create a private spa app
Private spa app: guests book the whole spa for their time slot, and nobody else comes in
One slot, one booking: the couple who book 8 to 10 pm have the hot tub and the sauna to themselves, and the cleaning time between two sessions never opens for booking.
Build your private spa's app without writing code, for iOS, Android and the web version: sessions booked by the hour, the spa kept private for each session, house rules, access details, photos, and an email confirmation as soon as a session is booked.

One session, one booking: the spa to themselves
Once a guest books, the session disappears from the app for everyone else
Guests pick a date, then a session, 6 to 8 pm for example. Once they confirm, nobody else can take it, because there is only one booking per slot; for a private spa, that is precisely what you sell. The form asks for what you need to get ready: number of guests, expected arrival time, phone number, special requests. You and the guest each receive a confirmation email.

Your sessions in three settings
For each spa, three Appointment booking settings describe your day, from the first soak to the last.
The session length becomes the slot length
Your sessions last 2 hours? Set 2-hour slots, or 90-minute slots if that is your format. The length is set in steps of 5 minutes and applies to the whole section: each spa offers a single session length.Time ranges spaced out for turnaround
Set the day's time ranges with a gap between them: 10 am to noon, 12:30 to 2:30 pm, 3 to 5 pm. Those 30 minutes can never be booked: they are your time to clean, change towels and robes, check the water and bring the tub back up to temperature. How far ahead, and how late on the day
The booking window opens the calendar 90 days ahead, so Valentine's Day and New Year's Eve get booked early. The minimum notice sets the cut-off for same-day bookings: with 3 hours, nobody can book the 8 pm session after 5 pm, and the tub has time to heat up.
Weekday evenings, all day on Saturday
A one-off event in your Google Calendar takes the session off the app
Set each day separately: two evening sessions from Tuesday to Friday, five sessions from 10 am to 10 pm on Saturday, nothing on Monday, kept for maintenance. Anything that comes back every week is handled by these time ranges. Days when you fully drain the tub are closed in advance; sessions already booked that day are then cancelled, with an email to each guest concerned. A repair visit or a private booking taken over the phone, entered in your Google Calendar, makes the sessions it overlaps unavailable.

How much does a private spa app cost?
A private spa lives on its sessions, so it needs the native app and Appointment booking. Choose the Premium plan and add the extension, or the Pro plan, which includes it. Hosting the app, updating it and notifying your guests add nothing to the bill: they come with the plan.
| Premium · web version and native app | $55 /month, billed yearly |
| Premium add-on: Appointment booking | $15 /month |
| Pro · session booking included | $105 /month, billed yearly |
The Standard plan, limited to the web version, does not offer booking. Apple and Google developer accounts are paid separately, directly to the stores, and no session is paid through the app.
Private spa app: six questions before you start
Can two couples book the same session?
No. A slot accepts a single booking: once a first couple has booked 8 to 10 pm, the session no longer shows for anyone else. That is what keeps the spa private. A group of friends books the session once and gives the number of guests in the form.
How do I leave time to clean between sessions?
By spacing out the day's time ranges. With 2-hour sessions, set 2 to 4 pm, 4:30 to 6:30 pm and 7 to 9 pm, for example: the half hour between two ranges is never offered. There is no buffer-time setting; the way you split the ranges creates it, and you can widen it on Saturdays, when cleaning takes longer.
Can I take payment or a deposit when guests book?
No: booking takes no payment, neither for the session nor as a deposit. You take payment on arrival, or through the method you already use. Write your payment and cancellation terms on the house rules page, so guests read them before booking.
Can I sell gift vouchers in the app?
Not through booking: Appointment booking sells nothing, neither vouchers nor sessions. If your vouchers already sell on your website, the app can simply lead there from one of its sections. Selling vouchers in an app under your name is a job for GoodBarber's eCommerce app, a separate product.
What happens when a guest cancels?
A guest can cancel in two ways: in the app, or with the link in the confirmation email. The session becomes bookable again, disappears from your Google Calendar, and you receive a cancellation email. If you are the one cancelling, because the heating has broken down for example, the guest receives the email.
Two spas on one site, a suite and a cabin: how does it work?
One booking section per spa. Each has its own session length, time ranges, closures and Google Calendar: the suite can sell 2-hour sessions and the cabin 90-minute ones. Guests choose the spa first, then the session.
Extension Store
Appointment booking carries the sessions (an add-on with Premium, part of Pro); the Form takes requests beyond a standard session, such as a full day for a group celebration. The map and contact page lead guests to the entrance. A session freed up tonight? A push notification tells your guests, and Geofencing sends a message to those arriving near the spa.
