Workshops sorted by age and by length

Ten minutes before snack time or a whole rainy afternoon

Sort your videos by recommended age, length and the materials they need: parents spot at a glance the activity that fits the time they have. Sections by season and by holiday, from Mother's Day cards to winter decorations, bring families back all year round.

The craft workshop, filmed one gesture at a time

The materials list first, then every step at a child's level

Each workshop opens with what to take out of the cupboard: cardboard tubes, glue, poster paint, round-tip scissors. Then come the steps, filmed up close, which the child pauses while cutting or waiting for the paint to dry. A few trial workshops stay open to all; the rest of the library belongs to subscribing families.

Printable templates, for parents

A PDF attached to the workshop, hidden until the family subscribes

Attach to each workshop the cut-out template, the coloring page or the folding sheet as a PDF: the parent prints it before sitting down with the child. In a locked workshop, the file stays invisible to a visitor without a subscription, who only sees the activity's introduction.

An app parents can hand over

Declared under Apps for Kids, it follows the stores' rules for children

One box to tick: once the app is declared under Apps for Kids, GoodBarber turns off what Apple's Kids category and Google's Families program forbid, such as behavioral advertising, some third-party analytics tools and unneeded permissions. The build sent to the stores meets those rules from compilation onward.

Opening your craft workshop app in three moves

The decisions to make before the first subscribing family.
  1. Declare the app for kids

Turn on Apps for Kids from the start: incompatible features are set aside before the first release.
  2. Film your workshops

One video per activity, with its template; count ten locked workshops before sales start.
  3. Set the subscription

Choose the length, one month or one year, or both; each store gets its price, and a free trial can open the way.

Creative kids app: questions from creators

What does the Apps for Kids declaration change?

It puts the app within the framework the stores set for children's apps: GoodBarber then removes behavioral advertising, some third-party analytics tools and permissions that are not needed. You don't have to know the list of rules.

Who pays for the subscription, the parent or the child?

The subscription is billed to the store account the device uses. When a child has their own account in a family group, their purchases usually need a parent's approval, depending on Apple's and Google's family settings.

Can I sell craft kits?

Not through the subscription, which covers the videos and templates only. Kits and supplies are physical goods: they sell in a GoodBarber eCommerce app, separate from this one.

Can my in-person workshops be booked in the app?

In-person workshops are paid for outside the app. If you mainly run a holiday club, with a vacation program and sign-ups, the app for children's leisure activities is built for that.

How many workshops should I publish before selling?

At least ten must be locked. Subscribing families get them as soon as Apple and Google have approved the app, or the update that contains them.

What budget for a craft workshop app?

Subscribing families need the store apps: Premium with the subscription option, or Pro, which integrates it. The Apps for Kids declaration costs nothing.

What a creative kids app costs

Selling a subscription requires the iOS and Android apps, so Premium at least, with Memberships on top; the Pro plan includes it. Videos, push notifications and the Apps for Kids declaration come with the plan.
Premium · iOS, Android, web app$55 /month, billed yearly
Memberships on top$49 /month
Pro · Memberships included$105 /month, billed yearly
Your developer accounts stay at your expense, paid to Apple and to Google.
