One series, one article

The text and the opening image for everyone, the whole series for subscribers

Publish each series as an illustrated article: a few lines on the project and a first image stay open to all; the following photos, each in its own paragraph with its caption (place, year, process, print), come after the preview and are reserved for subscribers. The lock goes on the article, not on a gallery section, which stays visible to everyone.

Putting a new series online

In the back office, or from your AI assistant.
  1. The statement

The title of the series, its intent, the place and the period it was shot.
  2. The opening

An image chosen to draw people in, visible to all, then the point where the preview stops.
  3. The images

The other photos, one per paragraph, with their captions, and some text in between if the series calls for it.
  4. The announcement

A scheduled release date, and the push that tells your readers on the day.

The portfolio as a shop window

An open gallery section, to make people want to subscribe

Keep a gallery section with a few images from each series. It stays public, and that is its job: it is where a visitor discovers the way you see before paying anything. In the caption, the title of the series tells them where to find it in full.

Prints

Sold in your shop, not through the subscription

The subscription opens access to the series in the app, nothing more: a print cannot be sold by in-app purchase. To sell your numbered prints, GoodBarber offers another product, the eCommerce app, with a catalog, a cart and payment, and no GoodBarber commission on sales; each series article can point to the print's product page, in that shop or on your website.

To publish

The series assembled from the conversation

The series is edited, your notes are ready: from the conversation, Claude or ChatGPT, plugged into the app through MCP, lays out the article as a draft, one image per paragraph with its caption. All that is left is to choose where the preview stops, then publish.

The right print size for their wall

“Where was the Foreshore series shot?”

The Chatbot reads the text of your articles, not the images; for a visitor without a subscription, it sticks to what is open.

Exhibitions and openings

The agenda of your shows, and a push to subscribers

List each exhibition, opening or art fair in an Agenda section, with the dates and the venue's address. A push can target your subscribers alone, to invite them to a private viewing, or those who have not subscribed, to introduce the next series.

The landscape photographer

One series per season on the same coastline, twelve images each: subscribers follow the project from one year to the next, and prints ship from her shop.

The painter

Canvases, drawings and their successive stages, photographed in the studio: each work has its article, with the work-in-progress images behind the preview.

The wedding photographer

To book sessions and deliver a private gallery to each couple, go for the wedding photographer app instead.

Plans for a photographer's app

A presence in both stores requires Premium, to which you attach the subscription option; Pro bundles it from the start. Your series count toward the plan's space, 10 GB on Premium, 50 GB on Pro, and views are never billed as bandwidth.
Premium · your series on mobile and the web$55 /month, billed yearly
Subscription to your series, a Premium option$49 /month
Pro · subscription option supplied$105 /month, billed yearly
On your subscribers, Apple and Google often keep 15%; GoodBarber, nothing. Prints sold through the eCommerce app fall under a separate plan.

Photographer app: your questions

Why not lock the gallery section itself?

Because a gallery section cannot be reserved for subscribers: it stays visible to everyone. The lock goes on articles: each series therefore becomes an article whose images sit below the preview limit, in the locked paragraphs.

Can I sell my prints in the app?

Not through in-app purchase: it sells access to the series, not objects. Prints are sold in a shop, GoodBarber's eCommerce app, which is a separate product, or the one you already have; your articles link to it.

How many series do I need before opening subscriptions?

Ten locked articles at the very least. A long series can be split into several articles, by chapter or by place.

Can a collector or a gallery get free access?

Yes, complimentary access is assigned by hand in the back office, with no set time limit.

Can subscribers view the series on a big screen?

Yes, in a browser: the subscription taken on their phone also opens the web version, where they log in. To subscribe, however, the web version sends people to download the app.

Which plan to sell access to my series?

Premium plus the subscription option, or Pro. The Standard plan, which only produces a web version, does not sell subscriptions.
