How to add a menu section
Menu section
A tab bar only has room for a few tabs, so the other sections of your app pile up behind its three dots.
A Menu section groups related sections behind a single entry, on a page of their own, each with its picture and its title.
Add a Menu section
In My App, Structure, click Add a section… search for Menu, and choose it.
Name it after what it groups, up to 32 characters. Here, Watch & listen, for our audio and video sections. Then click Add.
The Menu section joins the end of your menu. It starts empty, as the preview shows.
Fill it with sections
To put a section inside, drag it just under the Menu section's row, like River Daily Live here… and drop it. It moves one level down, inside Watch & listen.
For a section higher up the list, click the dots at the end of its row, then Settings… and under Tree structure, move the section into Watch & listen.
Save, and do the same for Video news.
Watch & listen now holds three sections, and shows them in the order of the tree.
Design
To design it, open the Menu section, and click Edit the design.
Choose a template to set how the sections show.
List lines them up as rows, with their titles.
Visual, the default, gives each section a large picture, with its title over it.
Under Pictures, each section starts with a default picture. Remove it… then upload your own with Browse, or open the Library.
The Library searches free photos from Pexels. Pick one, and it's in place.
The preview shows it at once. Do the same for each section.
Then, under Position on the images, place the titles… here at the bottom left, so every picture shows clearly.
Levels and limits
The plus button of its row adds a new section straight inside it… even another Menu section, for one more level. Menu sections nest up to four levels deep.
Every section counts toward your app's 120 sections, the Menu section included, wherever it sits.
In the app
In the preview, Watch & listen now ends the list behind the three dots, in place of the three sections it holds.
Click it: the Menu section opens with its three sections.
Each one opens as usual, and Back returns to the Menu section.
Your Menu section reaches your app once you publish it, with Publish my project.
