Auto repair shop app: drop-off slots, tire season and photo quotes, in your garage's own app
Your customers pick the time they leave their car with you, grab a winter tire slot as soon as the season opens and send photos of a dent to get a bodywork quote.
Put your garage in its own iOS and Android app, with a web version alongside, all built without code: car service appointments booked as workshop drop-offs, a Tire change section opened in season, bodywork quote requests with photos, tire storage information and notifications to all your customers.

Tire season in three settings
When mornings drop below 45 °F (7 °C), everyone wants their winter tires put on the same week. Here is how to open the season in the app and spread the work over six weeks.
A "Tire change" section
Add a separate booking section cut into 30-minute slots: enough time to swap a set of tires already mounted on their rims and check the pressure. Put it in the app's menu in early October; for the rest of the year, it isn't there.Wide hours, a short horizon
For the six weeks of the season, open longer hours than usual, Saturdays included if you choose. Set the booking horizon to 21 days: customers book within the next three weeks, and December doesn't fill up on October 1.One message to all your customers
Set up a push notification to go out on opening morning: "Winter tire slots are open, book in the app." It reaches every customer with the app on their phone, or only those in your area if you target it by zone.
Customers book the drop-off, not the repair
They choose when to leave the car; how long the work takes is up to you
A scheduled service, a squeal when braking or a warning light on the dashboard don't take the same time, and nobody knows until the car is up on the lift. So what customers book in the app is the drop-off: fifteen minutes to greet them, take the keys and note what they've noticed, then the car stays in the shop. In the booking form, customers enter the license plate number, the model, the mileage and the reason for the visit; since it's shared by all your booking sections, leave the reason optional. Both the customer and the garage receive an email confirming the slot, and a customer who pulls out, in the app or via the confirmation email, frees those fifteen minutes right away.

Morning drop-offs, and the night before
Early and late drop-off windows, Saturday afternoon closed, vacation set in advance
Open bookings from 7:30 to 9:30 am in 15-minute slots for customers who drop by before work, then from 5:30 to 7 pm for those who'd rather leave the car the evening before. On Saturdays, only the morning is open. Your summer shutdown goes in as exceptional closing days as early as spring. With one day's minimum notice, you have time to order the brake pads or the timing belt kit before the car arrives. Pickup isn't booked: the app shows your front desk hours.

One calendar per workshop activity
Tires, servicing, bodywork assessment, loaner car: each with its own slot length
Every booking section runs on its own slot length and has a Google Calendar all to itself: the tire bay's, the body shop's, the front desk's. Servicing is booked as 15-minute drop-offs, tires as 30-minute slots on the lift set aside for them, a bodywork assessment as a 45-minute appointment with the body technician, who looks at the damage with the customer. The loaner car can have its own section, open for fifteen minutes each morning: the key handover. Each section only reads its own calendar, so if one lift serves two activities, give it a single section.

In your garage's app, between two workshop visits
Bodywork quotes from photos
A Form collects the license plate number, a few words about the damage and photos taken close up and from further back; you reply with an estimate or an assessment date.
Tire storage
Where last season's tires are kept, how long you store them and which claim ticket to bring on swap day; the log of stored sets stays in your own tools.
What to leave in the car
The wheel lock key, the maintenance booklet if the car has one, and nothing valuable in the glove box: the checklist to read before drop-off.
Loaner car terms
How long drivers must have held their license, the deductible if it's damaged, the fuel level on return: your loan rules, right next to the section where it's booked.
After-hours drop-offs
Your front desk hours and how the key drop box works (envelope, name, license plate, reason for the visit) for a car left on a Sunday evening.
The towing number
Stuck on the side of the road, your customer calls the towing service from the app's contact page and finds the garage's address to have the car towed to.
How much does an auto repair shop app cost?
A garage's iOS and Android apps begin at the Premium plan, on which you switch on Appointment booking as a paid extra; the Pro plan already bundles it. The option covers every booking section in the app. The Form that receives bodywork quotes, CMS Map and CMS Contact are free extensions, and the web version alone (Standard plan) has no booking.
| Premium · native apps and web version | $55 /month, billed yearly |
| Appointment booking, added to Premium | $15 /month |
| Pro · Appointment booking included | $105 /month, billed yearly |
Your Apple and Google developer accounts are paid on top, directly to the stores.
Auto repair shop app: garage owners' questions
Does the app do the job of my shop management software?
No. It keeps no vehicle history, no repair orders, no invoices and no parts inventory, and it has no link to your software. It books drop-offs, receives quote requests and keeps your customers informed; bookings land in Google Calendar, which you keep open next to your software.
Can tire bookings open only during the season?
Yes. The Tire change section goes into the menu in early October and comes out at the end of November, then returns in March for summer tires. While it's open, a short horizon, 21 days for instance, stops people booking too far ahead and keeps slots for those who leave it late.
Can I get photos of the damage before quoting for bodywork?
Yes, through a Form, a free extension whose file field accepts photos and videos. Each request is flagged to you by email; the back office stores the answers, ready for a CSV export. For an accident report, ask for a photo of it: the native iOS app doesn't accept PDF uploads.
Do my customers get a reminder for their service or tires?
No individual reminders: the app has no record of each car's last service or mileage, and it never sends reminders by itself. At the start of each season, schedule one push notification for your whole customer base; in September, another message can remind everyone to have their car checked before winter.
Can I tell a customer their car is ready?
Not through the app: a notification goes to all your customers, to an area or to a group, never to a single person. When the car is ready, you call or message the customer, just as you already do; the app simply displays your pickup hours.
Can customers book the loaner car?
Yes, in a separate section open for one slot a day: the time you hand over the keys. Once it's booked for a date, it's no longer offered that day. If the loan lasts three days, add one event covering them to the section's Google Calendar and those days disappear from the app; with two loaner cars, create two sections.
Two mechanics, one lift: how do I avoid overlaps?
Book the resource, not the person. For short jobs such as tires, the lift has its own section: each 30-minute slot can only be taken once, so there are never two cars on the same lift at the same time. For servicing, the number of drop-offs you open each morning sets the shop's workload.
What about the vehicle inspection?
An article can explain when it's due and what you check beforehand. The appointment itself is made with the licensed inspection station that performs it.
