A bathroom under renovation in full daylight: white tile going up under bare plaster, electrical boxes and capped pipes waiting, a glass shower still under film, protective sheeting on the floor, and a project manager seen from behind looking at a tablet

The yard sign

A house on Maple Street is being remodeled, and the yard sign out front carries the app's QR code. A neighbor thinking about redoing her bathroom scans it, and her iPhone takes her to the App Store. Once the app is installed, she spots a finished bathroom two streets away on the map of completed projects, then books Thursday's 5:30 p.m. "Bathroom" visit.

The selections

The Martins signed for a kitchen and a bathroom, with work starting January 12. In the "My selections" section, they enter that date: cabinets must be chosen by December 1, tile by December 8. The next deadline sits at the top; walking out of the showroom, they check off the kitchen.

After the job

Eight months after the job wraps up, a cabinet door rubs. The client asks the Chatbot, which answers from the care guide the company uploaded as a PDF and shows where the information sits in the document. The door still rubs, so he fills in "Report a defect" with two photos, and the request lands in the office inbox.

Three moments, one app

Before the visit, between signing and the start date, after the job: at each moment, the client finds the answer in the app instead of calling your office.

Your company in the app, from the yard sign to the final walkthrough

What you set up for the first visit, between signing and the start date, then once the job is done.
  1. Before the visit

Print the app's universal QR code on your yard signs, your truck and your estimates; it sends each phone to its own store as soon as the app is published there. Then open one booking section per type of project, bathroom, kitchen, whole-home remodel, each with its own visit length and all on your project manager's Google Calendar. The booking form, shared by these sections, asks for the rooms, the square footage and the preferred start date.
  2. Between signing and the start date

"My selections" gives each client their deadlines, worked out from the start date. One article per type of project explains who comes when: demolition, plumbing and electrical rough-in, drywall, floor prep, tile, paint, then finish work, with what the client gets ready at each stage.
  3. Once the job is done

The "Report a defect" form collects photos, the completion date and the address; each request reaches your mailbox and exports to CSV. The Chatbot answers from your documents: care guide, manuals for the fixtures you installed, the warranty terms in your contract.

Your app, your website or the office phone?

Three channels, from the first visit to the end of the job: what each one does, or doesn't, for a company that handles every trade.

What your clients find in the app

The map of finished projects

One point per completed job in CMS Map, with before and after photos: anyone can see what you've done on their street. A push notification announces new ones.

Who comes when

One article per type of project: the order of trades, how long each stage takes, the days without water or power, what to clear out or cover.

My selections

The section made with the AI Extension Builder: deadlines for cabinets, tile, plumbing fixtures, flooring and paint, checked off as they go.

Report a defect

A form with photos, the completion date and the address. A document to attach? From the iPhone app, a photo of the paper stands in for the PDF.

Questions about the job

The Chatbot reads your care guide, your manuals and your warranty terms, and points to where each answer sits in the document.

Your trades

A page that introduces the team trade by trade, with your licenses and insurance; photo galleries show projects by type.

Reaching the company

A Contact section to call the project manager, email the office or find the shop's address.

AI at work on your projects

Three uses: each client's selection deadlines, answers drawn from your documents, the map of finished projects kept up by your assistant.
To build

Selection deadlines

Describe a "My selections" section to the AI Extension Builder: the client types in the start date, which their phone remembers, and the app counts back each deadline, from cabinets six weeks ahead to clearing the rooms in the final week. The next one stands out, missed ones gray out, and checked boxes stay saved. You set those lead times yourself when you write the request.
Free
To answer

Your documents, turned into answers

Upload your care guide, the manuals for the fixtures you install and your warranty terms to the Chatbot, as PDF, Word, text or Markdown files of up to 25 MB each. Add sections of the app too: their new content is picked up automatically. Under each answer, a card points to the source; the original file opens only if you allow it.

To operate

The map, kept up by your assistant

"Add the finished job on Maple Street to the projects map, with these three photos." Connected to the app through MCP, your assistant, Claude or ChatGPT, creates the map point, adds the photos to it, then tells you what it did.

How much does a contractor app cost?

For a native app on iPhone and Android, plan on Premium at least. Booked visits run on Appointment booking: an option with Premium, already part of Pro. The Chatbot on your documents comes as an option with either plan.
Premium · iOS, Android and web app$55 /month, billed annually
Appointment booking, with Premium$15 /month
Chatbot, with Premium or Pro$35 /month
Pro · appointment booking included$105 /month, billed annually
Standard, which only publishes the web version, doesn't include appointment booking. Apple and Google developer accounts are paid separately, directly to them.

General contractors: questions about the app

Which app builder fits a general contractor?

One that serves your clients from the first visit to the end of the warranty: booked estimate visits, selection deadlines, defects reported with photos. With GoodBarber, you assemble that app without writing code, for iPhone, Android and the browser: start your company's app.

Do we keep our construction management software?

Yes. Estimates, invoices, crew scheduling and timesheets stay in your software, and nothing gets paid in the app, neither the visit nor the deposit. The app handles the client side: the booked visit, information before the start, defects after completion.

Can a client follow their own project in the app?

No: the app has no space per project and sends nothing to one client in particular. It explains to everyone who comes when; progress on a given job stays between the client and your project manager, by phone or text.

Where should the app's QR code go?

Wherever a future client sees you: yard signs, the truck, estimates, invoices, business cards. The universal QR code, under Publish > Promote, sends every iPhone to the App Store and every Android phone to Google Play; it works once the app is live in the stores.

How do we avoid two visits at the same time?

Link every visit section to your project manager's Google Calendar: a slot taken in one disappears from the others. A job day entered in that calendar also closes the visits during its hours; entered from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m., it leaves the 5:30 p.m. slot open.

What does the Chatbot read, and what does the client see?

The documents you upload, as PDF, Word, text or Markdown files, and the app sections you choose. Under the answer, a card shows where the information comes from; the client opens the original file only if you've allowed it.

What budget should a general contractor plan for the app?

Premium plus Appointment booking, or Pro, where booking is already in the plan; the Chatbot is an add-on in both cases. Amounts appear in your currency in the price box, and the pricing page details every plan.

Can our crews use the app?

This app is built for your clients. To keep your crews informed, with their instructions and company news, see the internal communication app.

We only do one trade: which page should we read?

The one for your trade: plumbers, electricians, custom carpentry, masonry, or handyman services if you work by the hour.
