Friday, in the garage

At 8 p.m., the fan club posts the video of the car being set up, filmed in the garage. Only members get the notification "Friday's behind-the-scenes is live." A fan who hasn't joined yet opens the article: he reads the first two paragraphs, then the app offers him the membership, with a one-week free trial.

The schedule in her time zone

In Montreal, Lea opens "Race weekend in your time zone." Practice, qualifying and the race show up in her phone's time, with a countdown to the next session. The fan club only wrote the schedule once, in the circuit's local time.

A year on the house

For Tom's twentieth birthday, the fan club gives him a year of membership from the subscribers list; he had signed up in the app without joining yet. On Sunday, at the club's stand at the circuit, a flyer carries an App Store promo code for fans discovering the app.

A race weekend

What a member gets from Friday to Sunday, and what a fan who hasn't joined yet gets to see.

From behind the scenes to the membership, your fan club's app

What you keep for members, how fans join, then what keeps the club alive between two meetups.
  1. Choose what members get

Pick, item by item, what only members can open: articles with photos, videos, podcast episodes, agenda events, the map points where the club meets. You need at least ten before publishing. Set how many paragraphs other fans read before the invitation to join; photo galleries stay public.
  2. Sell the membership

Create one plan per duration, monthly or yearly, with a price for iOS and one for Android, and a free trial if you like. Apple and Google take the payments, handle renewals and cancellations. Our experts walk you through the store submission: approval is never guaranteed, but the help counts.
  3. Keep the club alive

Notify members only when new behind-the-scenes content is out, announce meetups in the agenda, and give everyone the race schedule in their own time zone. Members also find their content in the web version of the app, with the same account.

Fan club app, social network or subscription platform?

Three ways to gather fans around a club: what each one lets an official fan club do, and what it doesn't.

What your members find in the app

Behind the scenes on video

The garage, the briefing, the walk back to the paddock, on video, for members only.

The stories

Articles with photos, of which other fans only read the opening.

Audio episodes

The club's podcast, with some episodes kept for members.

Meetups

Members' meetups in the agenda and the meeting point on the map, visible to members only.

The schedule in their time zone

The race weekend converted to each phone's time zone, with the countdown.

Alerts

A notification when behind-the-scenes content is out, sent to members only.

The club on the web

The same members-only content in the web version of the app, with the membership account.

What AI brings to your fan club

Three uses: the schedule in each fan's time zone, behind-the-scenes stories translated for members abroad, a club kept running by your assistant.
To build

Race weekend in your time zone

Ask the AI Extension Builder for this section and type the schedule into your request, in the circuit's local time: practice, qualifying, race. Each fan sees the times in their phone's time zone, detected on its own, with a countdown to the next session. No settings, no data stored, and the same idea works for a concert tour.

To translate

Behind the scenes in several languages

Your members follow the club from Canada, Brazil or Japan. One-click translation turns the behind-the-scenes article into another language while keeping the club's tone; you read it over before publishing.
To operate

A club kept running by your assistant

"Give Tom's account a year of membership for his twentieth birthday." "Post the garage article in the Behind the scenes section." Through MCP, Claude or ChatGPT grants the subscription, creates the article in the back office, then tells you what it did.
Included

How much does a fan club app cost?

Premium publishes your app natively for iPhone and Android; Memberships is an add-on there, while Pro already includes it. On every membership sold, Apple and Google keep their share.
Premium · iOS, Android and web app$55 /month, billed annually
Memberships, with Premium$49 /month
Pro · Memberships included$105 /month, billed annually
The Standard plan publishes the web version only, with no paid membership. Apple and Google developer accounts are paid to them directly.

Fan clubs: questions about the app

What app builder suits a fan club?

GoodBarber is a no-code app builder: your fan club creates its own iPhone and Android app with it, sells the membership as a subscription in the stores and keeps its behind-the-scenes content for members. The same approach works for the fan club of a racing team, a driver, an athlete, a sports team, a band, a K-pop artist or a creator: start your fan club's app.

How do fans pay for their fan club membership?

Through an App Store or Google Play subscription, monthly or yearly, renewed until the fan stops it. You can offer a free trial. Apple and Google take the payments, handle cancellations and keep their commission.

Can we offer a "Fan" plan and a "VIP" plan?

No: every plan opens the same members-only content. You can, however, offer several durations, such as a month and a year.

What can be kept for members?

Articles, videos, podcast episodes, agenda events and map points, item by item, with an adjustable preview for everyone else. Photo galleries can't be restricted: put your behind-the-scenes photos inside articles.

Can we notify members only?

Yes: a notification can go to subscribers only, for instance when new behind-the-scenes content is out.

Can we give a membership as a gift?

Yes: from the subscribers list, you offer a membership to a fan who signed up in the app, and you pick how long it runs. Promo codes are created in the App Store and Google Play, then shared through a link, a notification or a flyer.

What about a members' chat or a member card?

Not with the store subscription, which can't be combined with those features. The other route brings together accounts, a members' group, a tiered member card and a chat, with a fee the club collects outside the app: it's the route our supporters' club app follows. You have to pick one or the other.

Can we sell merchandise or tickets in the app?

No: the subscription sold in the stores only unlocks content. Your merch shop and ticketing stay on your website, and a link in the app takes fans there.

Can Apple or Google reject the app?

They review every app and every subscription before approving them. Our experts walk you through the submission: it guarantees nothing, but it helps. The details are on the publishing service page.

How much should a fan club budget for the app?

Premium with the Memberships add-on, or Pro, which includes it; add the commission Apple and Google take on each membership. You'll find the amounts, in your currency, in the price box, with every plan spelled out on the pricing page.
With GoodBarber, your fan club sells its membership in the stores, keeps its behind-the-scenes content for members and tells them first
