Monday's update

At 5 p.m. on Monday, the stewards post the update from the bargaining meeting. Only the warehouse group gets the notification "The bargaining update is live," because the point on their shifts concerns them. Members at the other sites read it when they open the app.

Saturday's outing

On Tuesday, Nadia opens the events calendar and signs up for Saturday's family day at the amusement park: the app shows 12 spots left out of 50. Since only logged-in members can book, the local knows who is coming, with no spreadsheet to keep by hand.

The cinema code

On Thursday, Karim opens the Benefits section: the partner cinema gives $3 off a ticket until December 31. He shows the promo code, visible to logged-in members only, and types it on the cinema's booking site.

A week at the local

What a member sees from Monday to Thursday, and what the stewards do from the back office.

Your union in an app, from updates to events

What the stewards post, how members sign up, then how to keep the app for members only.
  1. Keep members informed

Post meeting minutes, agreements and event rules in article sections, and the dates of meetings and office hours in the agenda. A notification goes to every member or to a single group, such as one site or one team.
  2. Open sign-ups

Each event becomes a slot with the number of spots you set: an outing, a workshop, a holiday party. Only logged-in members book, and the app shows the spots left. A member can also book a meeting with a steward during office hours.
  3. Keep it for members

Turn off open sign-up: only the members your organization adds, one by one or from a CSV file, can log in. Then sort them into groups and choose, section by section, which group gets access.

Union app, benefits platform or group chat?

Three ways to reach members: what each one lets your organization do, and what it doesn't.

Partner discount codes, visible to logged-in members only.

Holiday allowance

The calculation of the holiday contribution, based on the scale your organization sets.

A notification to every member, or only to the site concerned.

Member account

Access through an account that your organization creates and sorts into groups.

What AI brings to your union

Three uses: a holiday allowance each member works out, minutes translated for teams who read another language, an organization kept up to date by your assistant.
To build

My holiday allowance

Your own scale goes straight into the AI Extension Builder request: household income brackets and contribution rates. The member enters the household's income and size; the app works out the income per person, the bracket and the contribution for a $1,000 trip. The result is only an estimate, your organization confirms it on proof, and nothing is stored.

To translate

Minutes in several languages

Some members read another language more easily than English. One-click translation turns the meeting minutes into each team's language while keeping the stewards' tone; you read them over before publishing.
To operate

An organization kept up to date by your assistant

"Post the minutes of the general meeting and notify the warehouse group." "Who signed up for Saturday's outing?" Through MCP, Claude or ChatGPT creates the article, sends the notification to the group and reads the bookings, then tells you what it did.

Unions: questions about the app

What app builder suits a union or a works council?

A no-code app builder such as GoodBarber: the stewards set up the union's app themselves, open to members only, with meeting minutes, event sign-ups and partner benefits. The same approach works for a staff association or a social club: start your union's app.

Is it hard to build a mobile app for a union?

No: you start from a template, then add your sections and extensions from the back office, without writing code. Our experts can also handle the store submission for you, through the publishing service.

How do we keep the app for members only?

Turn off sign-up in the Authentication settings: only the members you have added can then log in. You add them one by one or from a CSV file, up to 10,000 at once, then sort them into groups that each see their own sections.

Can management see what we post?

Your organization keeps the account list and sets each group's access rights: without an account, a person can't open the private sections. Who gets an account is up to you.

Can members pay dues, tickets or vouchers in the app?

No: the app takes no payments. It links to your dues platform, your ticketing service or your website, where members pay as they do today. Partner discount codes, on the other hand, show up in the app with Couponing.

Can members vote in union elections in the app?

No: online voting goes through a specialized provider. The app announces the dates, publishes the candidates and the results, and reminds members on election day.

How do members sign up for an event?

Each event becomes an Appointment booking slot, with the number of spots you set. The app shows the spots left, only logged-in members book, and you find the list of attendees in your back office.

Can we notify a single site?

Yes: sort members into groups, by site or by team, then send the notification to the group concerned only.

What about an internal communication app for the company?

If it's management that wants to inform its teams, see our employee communication app instead. Your union keeps an app under its own name, which it runs on its own.

How much does a union app cost?

Premium with Authentication and Appointment booking as add-ons, or Pro, which includes them; add Couponing if you offer member benefits. The box above gives the amounts in your currency; the pricing page compares every plan.
