The morning line is out the door

Customers order in the app before they leave, pick a pickup slot and pay online. You set how many orders each slot takes and how long you need to prepare them, so the counter no longer fills up all at once.
See time slots

Regulars you want to see again

Every order placed in the app earns points based on the amount spent. When a customer reaches your threshold, a coupon is created automatically and sent by push notification and email.
See the loyalty program

Just a stamp card, no ordering

If most of your sales happen at the counter, a content app with the Loyalty card is enough: one stamp per visit, validated with a QR code, and a reward at the end. That app does not take orders.

Three coffee shops, three ways to start

It depends on what hurts today: the morning line, customers who don't come back, or a paper card nobody keeps.

Your coffee shop app in four steps

No code, all from the GoodBarber back office.
  1. Put your menu online

Add your drinks and pastries as products, each with up to three options: size, milk, an extra shot. Every combination can have its own price.
  2. Open counter pickup

Turn on In-store pickup, then Time slots: your opening hours, how often slots start, how many orders each slot takes and the minimum lead time before the first pickup.
  3. Set up your loyalty program

Choose how many points a given amount spent earns, the threshold that triggers a coupon, and what the coupon gives: a fixed amount, a percentage or a specific product.
  4. Get the counter ready

Install the Shop Companion app on the counter phone: a notification for every order, the list sorted by pickup slot, and a swipe to move each order to the next step.

Also in your app

Buy again

Customers put their last order back in the cart in one tap: the morning cappuccino is reordered without searching.

Push notifications

Announce the seasonal drink, a new cake or Sunday opening hours to all your customers.

Discount codes

A code for the app launch or a quiet hour, valid on the whole order, one product or a collection.

Pastry stock

With Stock management, a sold-out product can no longer be ordered: no croissant sold twice.

A "Find your drink" quiz

GoodBarber is a powerful app builder. If you want to build your app using a pre-built template, GoodBarber is ideal for you. At Global Academy, we almost completed the 5th year using their easy-to-use pre-built platforms to build premium Apps for our customers. Also, Goodbarber's customer support is excellent. Highly recommended.

Coffee shop app: frequently asked questions

Can a coffee shop offer order-ahead pickup and a loyalty card in its own app?

Yes, in a GoodBarber eCommerce app: customers order and pay in the app, choose a pickup slot and earn points on the amount of each order. When they reach the threshold you set, a coupon is created automatically. Points reward orders placed in the app; for a purchase made at the counter, you can add points by hand in the customer's record. The stamp card validated with a QR code is a different extension, available in content apps only, without online ordering.

How much does an app cost for an independent coffee shop?

You need an eCommerce subscription. A store-listed app for iPhone and Android needs Premium or Pro; Premium already covers Time slots; the Loyalty program is a paid extension on Premium and comes included with Pro. In-store pickup is free. GoodBarber takes no commission on your orders: only your payment provider's fees apply. Current prices, in your currency, are on the pricing page.

Loyalty app or ordering app: where should I start?

Look at where your day is won or lost. If the wait at the counter costs you customers every morning, start with order-ahead pickup: time slots spread the rush, and points follow every order. If most customers walk in unannounced and pay at the counter, a stamp card in a content app is enough to bring them back. The two don't combine in one app: ordering belongs to the eCommerce app, the stamp card to the content app.

Can customers choose the size, the milk or an extra shot?

Yes. Each product takes up to three options, for example size, type of milk and an add-on. Every combination becomes a variant, with its own price and its own stock.

How do I know an order is coming in, and tell the customer it's ready?

Each order sends you an email and, with the Shop Companion app, a notification on the counter phone. Orders are listed by pickup slot and a swipe moves them forward. When an order moves to the next step, the customer automatically gets a push notification whose text you write, for example "Your order is waiting at the counter".

Can I cap the number of orders during the rush?

Yes. Time slots set how often slots start, the maximum number of orders per slot and the minimum lead time between ordering and the first pickup. You can also open same-day slots only, or just the next one. Turning them on requires an app update on the stores.

Do customers need an account to order?

You decide: account optional or required. Loyalty points, however, belong to the account: an order placed without one earns none.

Can customers pay at the counter when they pick up?

Yes, with the Offline payment extension. Two things to know: an order paid at the counter earns no points, and once offline payment is live, the app no longer produces invoices, only order summaries. This choice cannot be undone.

What if my coffee shop also serves meals or delivers?

For meals, delivery or a food menu, see the restaurant solution: the same eCommerce app, with local delivery and delivery zones.
