Saturday's final

Your "Match nights" booking section offers one slot on Saturday at 8 p.m. with twelve seats: one seat is one table. In the form, the customer says how many people are coming; the app shows the tables still free, and each email can hold only one table per slot.

The cancelled gig

5 p.m.: tonight's band cancels. You change the event in the agenda, which turns into a quiz night, then send a notification to everyone who has the app. Two steps, which your AI assistant can also take for you.

Wednesday quiz night

Teams sign up through a form. At the counter, each player scans the QR code by the till and earns a point on their loyalty card, only one per night: you set one day between two points. The next day, the answers are in the app, with the players' photos you chose to publish.

The nights that count

A match, a gig, a quiz: three nights where your bar's app does the job posters and the phone used to do.

A week at the bar in three steps

The lineup on Monday, the notification the day before, loyalty on the night.
  1. Monday: the lineup

Wednesday's quiz, Thursday's gig, the weekend matches: each night gets its own page in the agenda, with the time, the poster and the address. When entry is paid, the page carries a button to your usual ticketing site.
  2. The day before: the notification

Schedule it for 6 p.m. the next day, in 130 characters or fewer. Send it to your regulars, the people who opened the app several times in the last 30 days, or to the neighborhood, by drawing an area on the map: only customers with location turned on receive it.
  3. On the night: the counter

The customer scans the QR code by the till and earns their point; once the card is full, they get the gift you picked. A coupon in limited numbers, valid until Sunday, offers a sharing platter, and the club card singles out the people who come back every week.

What a bar puts in its app

The bar menu

Drinks and platters, with their prices: a section you update whenever the menu changes.

Photos from the nights

Customers send their photos through the Submission Section; you pick the ones that appear in the app.

Private hire

A form for birthdays and leaving parties: the date, the number of people, the occasion. You call the customer back for the rest.

The club card

Three levels, based on how many loyalty cards a customer has filled, each with its own perks, such as a table kept for them on match nights.

Coupons

You set how many coupons there are, their validity dates and how many times each customer can use one, offer by offer, and you see how many were used.

The countdown

Before the final or the summer street party, the Store's Countdown extension shows the time left.

Getting there

The bar, the nearest bus stop and the parking lot, pinned on a map in the app.

AI at your bar

Three concrete uses: tonight's event up front, answers to questions, tasks handed to your assistant.
To build

"Tonight at the bar", kept current by the agenda

In plain words, tell the AI Extension Builder what this section does: read your Agenda, put tonight's event in large type, and fall back to the next one on quiet nights. No options panel: your request holds every setting.

A Chatbot for questions before the night

"Which match is on tonight, and on which screen?", "Is the gig free?": the Chatbot draws on the agenda and the published content, and replies in the customer's language. It can't see which tables are still free: the booking section shows that.

To operate

The agenda and bookings from Claude or ChatGPT

At 1 a.m., from your phone: "Add Saturday's gig at 9 p.m." Before opening: "List the bookings for the final with the number of people." With MCP, your AI assistant handles it: you give the go-ahead, it acts, then it sums up what changed.

Bars and pubs: questions about the app

Which app builder should a bar or pub use?

Start from the job the app has to do. If it should announce your event nights, take bookings for match nights, run the loyalty card and keep your regulars posted, GoodBarber lets you build it without writing code, on iOS, Android and the web. If you want to take orders and payments, look at the eCommerce app on the restaurant page; for a coffee shop that sells takeaway, the coffee shop page.

How much does an app for a bar cost?

With the Premium plan, add Authentication, the loyalty card, coupons if you want them and, for tables, Appointment booking. Pro already includes Authentication and Appointment booking. The box above lists each amount in your currency; the pricing page covers everything else.

Can customers book a table for a match?

Yes, by counting in tables: a slot with twelve seats means twelve tables. In the form, the customer says how many people are coming, and the app shows the tables still free. Each booking counts as one seat, and the same email can't book the same slot twice.

Can I sell tickets for a gig or a quiz in the app?

No. No money goes through Appointment booking, and in-app purchase is limited to selling access to content. Add a button to your usual ticketing site on the event's page: the customer buys their ticket there.

Can customers order or pay for drinks in the app?

Not with this content app. Ordering and payment go through an eCommerce app, like the one on the restaurant page.

How do I stop a customer from scanning ten points in one night?

Set a minimum delay between two points, in minutes, hours or days: with one day, there's only one point per night. If your QR code gets around outside the bar, renew it from the back office and print the new one: the old one stops working.

Can I notify only my regulars, or people in the neighborhood?

Yes. The back office targets customers by how they use the app, such as people who opened it several times in the last 30 days, or by an area you draw on the map, which only reaches people with location turned on. With Geofencing, a notification goes out by itself when a customer with location turned on enters or leaves the area you chose.

Will the App Store and Google Play accept a bar app?

It goes through the same review as any other app. The age rating is set in the store listing; screenshots, on the other hand, must suit every audience, even when the app is rated 17+.

Do customers need to create an account?

For the loyalty card, coupons and the club card, yes: these extensions require Authentication, and each customer creates an account once in the app. The agenda, the bar menu and notifications stay open to everyone, no account needed.
