A report every morning, a notification to read it
Create a “Conditions” section and publish a short article there every morning: water level, wind, water temperature, routes open or closed. An automatic push goes out on publication, with the report's title. If a storm threatens in the afternoon, a manual push calls off the trips in an instant; target the area around the center to warn only the people nearby.
Your routes, on the map
Put-in, rapids, portages and take-out, each in its place
Each route has its own page: distance, average time, level, spots to watch, return shuttle. In the Map section, its stages become points the paddler opens one by one, with road directions to the put-in. At sea or on a lake, same idea: the beaches to land on and the zones to avoid.

Draw a zone around the put-in in the back office: when a phone enters it, the app displays your message (buoyancy aid fastened, pass the weir on the right bank, the center's number in case of a capsize). This is geofencing: a local notification triggered by the phone itself, with nothing for you to send.

Kayak and water sports center app: your questions
What if I publish for water sports enthusiasts, with no center or club?
The same app makes a fine magazine: surfing, sailing or kayaking articles and videos, an automatic push with every new post. To earn from your content, reserve part of it for subscribers with Memberships, sold in the iOS and Android apps.
Can customers book and pay for a kayak rental in the app?
Not in this app: it informs, it does not take money. Put a link to your usual booking tool on the prices page. For one-to-one appointments, a private lesson for instance, the Appointment booking extension takes one booking per slot, with no payment.
Does the message at the put-in appear for everyone?
For those who have installed the app and allowed location access: the phone itself detects entering the zone. Geofencing is part of the Premium plan.
Do I need a new app version to change a route?
No: routes, the report, prices and the agenda are edited in the back office and change in the app straight away, without going through the stores.
Can the report go out at a set time?
Yes: schedule the push, at 7:30 a.m. for example, or let the automatic push go out when the report is published. Each send can target a geographic area, the center and its surroundings.
How much does a kayak club app cost?
The Premium plan covers the store apps, automatic push and geofencing; the Pro plan suits large teams. Hosting and updates are included, and video bandwidth is not billed.
