GoodBarber says "Marhaba"! مرحبا بكل القراء العرب

Hello Everyone, My name is Safa Amari and I am from Tunisia. I speak three languages: Arabic (my native language), French and English. I like music, traveling, sports, reading, cooking…. I am very interested in information technology, marketing, management and human resources. I hold a Master's degree in Computer Science with a specialization in Information and Internet Systems from the University of Corsica. At the moment I am studying at the IAE (business school) of Corsica to obtain a master's in Management, with a specialization in International Business in the southern Mediterranean. So, when I found out that GoodBarber was looking for someone to work on the Arab market, I applied immediately for this job as it really interests me, and here I am!  I will be working with the GoodBarber team as an intern for 6 months, in order to help Arabic customers create their Beautiful Apps - and of course I'll do my very best to serve the Arabic market! See you, Safa

Hello GoodBarbers, Today we have some good news! One of our friends wants to make his dream come true, and we want to help him! Camilo Lüttecke is student and aspiring entrepreneur by day and voluntary firefighter and blogger by night. He grew up in Puerto Varas, the south of Chile. Three years ago he came to Santiago de Chile, the capital, to study Engineering Business. Now he has just been admitted to an entrepreneurship program in New York City at Baruch College!!  But he needs some funds to be able to go, so he has created this campaign to ask for help. From GoodBarber we invite you to help Camilo if you can ;) If you want know more, click here. Or discover more in Facebook.

Ice bucket challenge by the GB Crew

Hi GoodBarbers,    Our nomination for the #Icebucketchallenge is for all of you! We had a lot of fun organizing and shooting the video and cleaning everything after this cold shower :)   But behind all this fun, there is an important cause: the ALS foundation has launched this viral challenge to collect money for research against ALS.   It would be great if you would make a video like us, but the most important thing is to make the donation, no matter how much you want or you can donate, it will definitely be a step closer! ;)   We wish you a very nice weekend!   Bye bye

Happy 15th of August GoodBarbers ;)

In Italy and France the 15th of August is a national holiday! Having grown up in a city near the coast of Romagna, the 15th of August has always been Ferragosto , the day in which we celebrate the summer. Campfires by the beach, singing songs in the moonlight, friends, fireworks and of course, we could never miss a midnight dip in the warm summer water. Sleeping on the beach with our alarms set to 6 in the morning, just in time to go get a freshly baked bombolone (a typical italian donut filled with cream or chocolate) as soon as the Vela Bianca in Punta Marina opened. Now that I live in the beautiful island of Corsica I don't intend to interrupt this tradition by any means, I'll just have to give up the bombolone in the morning in exchange of a warm croissant, a sacrifice I am more than willing to make!  And you GoodBarbers?! Do you have any similar national summer holidays?? What are your traditions? We'd love to hear your fantastic stories, in the meantime, we wish you all a happy Ferragosto and a fun weekend!! See you on Monday ;)

GoodBarber 3 is Online!

Today, we're proud to present the third version of GoodBarber ! Ever since the beginning of the GoodBarber adventure, we've always had one main objective: offering anyone the possibility to create an application with incomparable design and an amazing user experience. With GoodBarber 3, we're staying true to these principles. The experience we've gained with previous versions gives us the advantage of being able to continuously improve our product. Nevertheless, every major update of GoodBarber is an occasion for us to question everything we do. With GoodBarber 3, we've moved the goalposts once again by introducing a radically new approach for building an application.

GoodBarber's Musical Chairs

In a company like GoodBarber, it isn't always easy to know what going on behind all of the brightly lit computer screens and big servers. Our interactions and exchanges with clients take place mainly through email or chats, which almost entirely hides the human element of our company, even though of course we have a heart at least as big as our servers... Today I want to talk about something a bit different from the usual subjects of this blog - so for once I won't be speaking about technology or apps. I want to talk about our team and how we've managed to gain strength and cohesion thanks to a "game".
Erik Rossen, Friday 6 June 2014

It's time to work hard, play hard!!

My name is Erik Rossen and I've just joined GoodBarbers marketing team to work on the English-speaking world. I'm German-American and I speak English, German and also French since I've been living in France for over three years now. I'll soon be finishing my master’s degree, but for the time being I'm looking forward to this real-world break from university... I was motivated to choose this job because I'm confident I'll gain invaluable experience in a fast-paced industry and I wanted to challenge myself in a young, growing business. I believe that that the digital economy will only continue to grow in the future and it was something I wanted to see from the inside, too. In my free time I enjoy sports and the outdoors, and while "work hard, play hard" may be good advice in general, I don't think playing hard should mean being stressed after work... and so I won't deny that for me a part of the attraction of coming here was to have a welcome break after the sardine-tin subway commutes and grey skies of the city...

The routine of a Country Manager

The problem with routines is that in the end, you tend to be absorbed by them and you end up going through your days without knowing what you are doing.   When I started working here at GoodBarber, my whole routine had been turned upside down, my schedule and daily tasks had changed and so I had to find another way to live my life that would fit better in my new reality.

The frenchest of italians

Hi everyone! My name is Andrea and I'm from Milan. I've studied in Switzerland and in France, more precisely in Geneva, Annecy, Nîmes, Paris, and more recently in Aix-en-Provence, where I'm doing the last year of studies in software engineering. I speak french, italian and english, before coming here I worked on several projects: smartphone applications, robotics, but mostly on web development. What am I doing at GoodBarber? I joined GoodBarber's team in March to work on the new version of the engine for HTML5 Beautiful Apps, as well as on the real time preview for the new backoffice. What is my hobby? What I like to do when I'm not developing? At the moment I'm working on some projects about independent video games. I love my moto; I like to travel, to cook and listening to music (especially classic rock) and of course everything that has to do with High Tech.

From Tokyo to Ajaccio...

Hello everyone, I’m Deborah, and I’m from Ajaccio. I studied applied foreign languages in Aix-en-Provence, spent one year in Tokyo to improve my Japanese, and completed my studies in Paris in media, information and communication, before I got back to my hometown. I speak French, English, Japanese, and also a bit of Italian and Spanish. During my Master’s Degree I worked on digital contents and their impact on the economy, especially in the music industry. I’m very interested in new technologies of information and communication, so when I heard about the CampusPlex I applied, and here I am! I’m here to help the GoodBarber team with the online assistance to help you create your Beautiful Apps. Do get in touch with me if you have any question! :-) I like music (anything, but I love rock and metal), travels, reading, writing, and many other things that just don’t come to my mind right now.

It smells like pretzels here at GoodBarber? Who came from germany?

Hi everyone, my name is Katrina Bertacci. I come from Bologna where I am still studying to complete my masters degree in corporate management. I am half german and half italian and I speak fluent english, italian and german. When I found out that GoodBarber was looking for a person to open the german market I applied for the job and so now here I am! I will be managing the german market as you may have imagined. In my free time I enjoy reading, painting and taking my dog for walks and playing with him. I also love to cook and experiment, making my own cosmetics for fun. I like traveling a lot and making new experiences, which is also why I applied at GoodBarber. I have almost finished my first week here and it has been very interesting. At the moment I am learning to use all the powerful tools that GoodBarber offers because I need to understand the product before I can propose it to the market. ;) I have also found the workplace to be very positive and inspiring.

A Tuscan boy in Corsica

Hi everyone!   My name is Guido and I just joined the GoodBarber’s team as an Android developer.    I come from Florence where I graduated in Engineering of Electronics. While studying for my two-years specialization course in Engineering Automation I started to develop Android on my own and fell in love with it. So I started to create my apps for my own pleasure. Recently I've started to develop Apple for curiosity and made some apps on my own. When I saw the GoodBarber's contest in Florence I said “why not?”. I tried.... And now I'm here! I’m very happy to be part of the team because I think we should always follow our passions as much as we can.   What am I doing at GoodBarber?   I’m here to help the team develop the Android Beautiful Apps engine.   What else?   I love music. I played in a band (Repleva ) in my home town as a guitarist and I like listening to live music. I enjoy playing soccer and volleyball. I like cooking, as well.

Back from an amazing week @ MWC14

As you know, last week, we attended the Mobile World Congress 2014 in Barcelona. Each year, the Mobile World Congress is the moment for us to showcase GoodBarber's new features. In 2013, we established a new standard in mobile app design by providing the most comprehensive set of designing option ever seen in an app builder. This year, we had the pleasure to demonstrate how to deliver an ultimate user experience using the last improvements of GoodBarber.

3 days @ Salon de la Radio in Paris

On Sunday, Monday & Tuesday, we were in Paris for the French Radio Show (Salon de la Radio) with Jérôme Pietri . It's a major event in France for the radio world, organized by two of our first customers, Philippe Chapot & Frédéric Brulhatour , from La Lettre Pro de la Radio . If you remember, we already attended this event once, just a year ago. We had a great time with all the people at the event who visited our booth, existing or future customers :)

Maths for kids: iOS vs Android

Today, I propose you a simple maths exercise for your kids. It will let them play with figures and discover which platform, between iOS and Android, is more popular among non developers who create apps. It started this morning during a coffee break at the office. If you drop by one day, no doubt that you will attend passionate discussions between iOS and Android developers. Each team can argue that the platform they develop on is the best and why. But what about our users who are non-developers? Do they prefer iOS or Android? A quick look at our database can give you the answer to this question. So, let's play with data. If you have a kid aged between 7 and 8, you can solve the following exercise with him ;)
